The artwork you see on my site was created using a variety of software tools. Here's the short list:
My Tools:
Lightwave 3D -- Lightwave is a professional level modeling and layout application. Lightwave was used in such films as Titanic and The Iron Giant, and TV shows like Roughnecks. I haven't learned a third of what it can do, and I've been using it just about every day. Produced by Newtek.
Vue d'Esprit Infinite--e-on software's landscape designer is currently the best on the market. Nearly all of my landscape work is done using Vue Infinite these days.
Check out the demo.
Apophysis -- Apophysis is a flame fractal generator. Basically it uses mathematical functions to create stunning 2D abstracts. Download it for yourself and get it a spin. It's free!
World Builder -- My early landscape images were created with Bryce and Vue d'Esprit. They were generally barren pictures without an vegetation. World Builder changed all that with it's procedural plant instancing. It was possible to create huge forests and fields of grass. This was my landscape creator of choice until Vue d'Esprit Infinite came along with much better plant instancing and a better renderer.
Poser 6 -- I generally don't do "character studies" any more. I prefer environments. However, there are times when I like to insert a human into my scene to give everything a sense of scale. That is when I use Poser to create the model for me, becasue it would be a waste of time to model a human from scratch when the model is only going be a tiny part of the scene.
Adobe Photoshop -- I geneally prefer to use the straight render without "post-processing". When cleanup is required however, Photoshop is the tool.
Check out the demo.
