Hi Ryan, Awesome wallpapers man! I'm getting an error when I try to download the 3440x1440 zip archive. I believe my network is fine as I have downloaded the zip archive before. Please look into it as there might be an issue with the server or corruption on the file. -Thanks |

Some of your images make great Zoom backgrounds, but most do not due to main interesting details being in the center of the image. That is where my head goes. ;-) Something simple like a framing using rule of thirds would put it not covered in meetings. Long time member, Jerry Brower Hilo Hawaii |

Zoom is popular and also increasing in use. Would you consider making some backgrounds that Zoom users would want to use? Make it look realistic as if the user is sitting in an interesting environment. |

On and off over the years, I'll use the RANDOM selections from the WALLPAPERS drop down, and for years, it has worked without noticeable problems. Now, the first click generates a random image. The second time, I get another seemingly random image. After that, the third time clicking RANDOM, and ALL later attempts (4th, 17th, etc) generates THE SAME image as the SECOND try. I've rebooted everything on my end, and tried using both the current versions of FF and MS-Edge browsers, and keep getting exactly the same result. After reboots, the images generated are different, but follow the same pattern (two images provided, no change from 2nd click of RANDOM and on). It still might be something on my end, but I doubt it at this point, so I thought I'd offer the observation in case the site has a lurking issue. In any event, I'm still able to see all the art, which is what really counts! Thanks for the good work! Gene Polk Pensacola FL |

Great site. However, can't find way to logout. Would be great if there was a big 'logout' button on home page. |

I just bought Portals, a long time favorite of mine, for the office wall. Love it. I've been following since the beginning when I came across the Blue Mushrooms and thought 'Damn, that's cool and different'. Thank you for sharing your talent! |

How come there isn't a search term for Summer wallpapers? Being in Southern Hemisphere can feel forgotten sometimes. We aren't all in Autumn at the moment. Apart from that, looking good :) |

Hey Ryan, glad to see your renders going from strength to strength after all these years,got to admit some difference seeing fluorescence blue at 4k compared to the old 1024/1280 monitors it graced before :) or tropic of Capricorn for UHD regeneration, either would be awesome, not that your stuck for candidates I'm sure ;) I have a large print of flou blue in mancave and a medium print at work :) still my all time favourite of your work all these years. paid up again just so i can have it at 4k as wallpaper :) Hope you and your family are keeping safe and well. Hi Ryan, your Gotham render from years ago is still one of the few city-scapes I've ever seen you create. It's still one of my favorites (as well as the update you rendered a few years later). Might we see an update of that? I love your work and sing your praises to anyone that will listen and force those that remark about the awesome desktop I have to listen of your long-time project and life's work. Well done, sir. |

Ryan, hi, Using LastPass with Chrome. Tried logging out of LastPass, and also disabling auto-fill in for DB. Still get the blank screen when I try to sign in. Had to use Firefox to download any wallpapers :-\ |

I seem to remember that until recently, when we clicked to open an image, or hit Random, the date of the work would appear with (or near) the title. This isn't happening any more, at least not on my computer (Win-10 Dell Notebook). Something change, or is this a figment of my (admittedly faulty) memory? |

That seems a little simple compared to what we know you can do, Ryan. How about a good 4th of July fireworks show 'Finale' in front of a thunderous lightning-filled sky, above a quiet night-time country pond with fireflies? Just sayin' :-) |

I really love your work and i plan on supporting it for as long as you continue to do it! I dont know if you take requests but I would be eternally grateful if you ever do a render with some type of horse theme. my wife loves horses but i cant find quality horse wallpapers anywhere and it would be awesome to surprise her with a fantastic one! But i understand if its not really something you do. Thanks for all your hard work! |

I really like this one, Ryan. Very realistic picture of a phenomenal landscape. I like the ones I've seen in life, and having them in a convenient package to put on your desktop(s) is Sweet! Please do more like this. Fog in the morning, mountains or high plains. Good Stuff. |

Ryan, zip files for split resolutions would be awesome. In the meantime if anyone needs any help in getting them (since the directories are open) I'm including a snippet for wget to grab all images of a certain res, worked great on my macbook with brew/wget. I successfully downloaded 485 items. wget -r --user username --password password -np "https://secure.digitalblasphemy.com/content/jpgs/2x/" -P /Users/username/path/to/images/ -A '*2x3840.jpg' |

Hello. I love getting the email updates when a new wallpaper is available. However, as a multiscreen user, I can't really use the single screen version and the multiscreens are rarely available at the same time. I often forget to check back on wallpapers I like, so that means I either never actually change my wallpaper or its way later. I would love the option to sign up to receive separate notifications when dual/triple screen wallpapers are available. |

Ryan, Have you considered breaking your zip files into (smaller) yearly & size zips. Some of your zip downloads are getting quite big, AND growing. Some are almost 1Gb now. And even with high speed internet downloads take quite some time. Also since what most folks (like me) are probably looking for is the most resent additions to your catalog of work. Yes I can surf multiple pages and collect them, and yes that currently takes less time. I'm just making the suggestion. Another option might be to have a current year / size zip, and a history / size zip. Since the history file would only change once a year (say in Feb) anyone wanting the older work would only need to download it once, and they'd be caught up. Then most folks would just download the "Current Year" / size file. This would reduce the wait times for end users AND reduce bandwidth on your end. Again, just a thought to ponder. Cheers! PS. Still LOVE your work, 20+ years strong! :D |
||

Your work is great. Though I have lifetime membership I would like to make a donation for your efforts. Great work |

Your dragon gold piece is an absolute dream, but it's the only one like it! How come you don't have a fantasy section, with dragons and fairies and gnomes and the like? I know landscapes are your thing, but your dragon is so beautiful, couldn't you expand? |

Hey, Ryan. I'd like to have my password encrypted back and forth to your site to download your fantastic work. Even when I'm logged in, once I slick on an image (Rectilinea, for example), I'm asked to login again, and to send the creds unencrypted. I've been a lifetime member for a while, but seldom visit the site because I'm so happy with the batch I'd downloaded the one time I do visit. Your work is so beautiful, that I can promise you at least the $15/year subscription, but I can't given cleartext passwords. Nobody does that any more. Cheers, Payter. Safari, el Capitan PS: If i disable Tracking Protection on firefox, I can get to the images. That's certainly not ideal. |

I agree with @0beron in that I feel like everything is scaling weirdly. Unlike @0beron I do not have to horizontally scroll, but the text especially scales with window width; when I maximize the window, the text is so large that only about 7-8 words fit on a line. I also feel oddly 'Zoomed in' on every page and the site feels much harder to navigate then it used to. I'm on Firefox on Windows. |
||
0beron |
I'm viewing the site in chrome on windows, and it seems the latest update scales the font size according to window width - no matter what size I make the window the site rescales itself and half the page is hanging off the edge, forcing horizontal scrolling. Maximising the window makes everything enormous to the point of unusability! Applying a scale factor to the browser scales everything except the text which remains fixed. |

I remember seeing in your emails that your traffic has gone down a good amount from search engines and I thought I should share one good suggestion to help. Google has made HTTPS ranking more important recently that it used to be. Your site fails on HTTPS by stating that the certificate is only valid for "secure.digitalblasphemy.com". By correcting the certificate and forcing HTTPS mode on the entire site your ranking and traffic should improve. This is a link to the official google blog post on the subject -> https://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2014/08/https-as-ranking-signal.html I hope that you find this useful --Preston (shikoru@gmail.com) |

I noticed that the Sunshine Tree is not in the top rated wallpaper list, even though it has more than 50 ratings and a high enough rating to be in both the top 50 and top 100 lists. Has the required number of ratings changed, perhaps? No biggie, Ryan, just FYI. |
||
Jason |
Hey Ryan, I've been a lifetime member for quite some time now and was wondering if you are ever going to make glossy coffee table books to show off your gallery (Perhaps even by year or time period). I think that would be something I'd be excited to purchase to continue supporting the site even though I'm already a lifetime member. Keep up the good work! Oh, also you could sell them on amazon (at reasonable prices) to attract new members... |
||

Any chance you will start to produce 21:9 aspect ratio images soon? |

Chris |
I'm not really sure where else to leave this feedback. I have been wanting to buy multiple T-Shirts with your work on them through Society6 for a while now. However, I am 6'7" tall, and can only wear tall size shirts. Any chance at making these available, even if they are a few dollars more? Love your work, and thanks! |
||
Ryan |
Thanks for the feedback! I haven't really made any changes to how the images are displayed for a long time though. What changes would you like to see? |
||
Paul |
I'm not a big fan of the new site design. It looks all glowy, which is cool, but it's much harder to navigate and see the actual images than the old site. |
||
Zan Lynx |
It would be great if members could set a list of resolutions in their account and those would be displayed first in the download lists. Even better would be a zip file or something that would download the entire list of resolutions all at once. That way my file server could easily have a copy for each of my devices. |
||
Joe |
All the membership "flair" has absolutely wrecked this website. It is slow, unresponsive, difficult to use, and viewing the gallery has become painful. I know times are tough, but the site is becoming borderline unusable. This is the only site where the text jumps all over the screen when you accidentally hover over a name. See: http://digitalblasphemy.com/content/renewals2015.shtml For a perfect example. It's OK on Edge, but with Chrome, it's completely broken. It's a shame, because your art has never been better, but the interface makes it such that I no longer can come here and just browse freely. I hope you aren't losing potential members because of the site. |
||
Steve |
Hey Ryan, I've tried Chrome and FireFox and I'm not able to load the main page for any of your images. Might want to look into that. Steve |

I would love to buy some T-shirts, but they aren't available to tall (T) sizes. Being 6'3", if I don't get a T-size shirt, I wash it once, and I can't wear it any more. |
||
Ryan |
I agree there are quite a lot of images to display. Would you prefer somewhere in between with the image sizes? |
||
Gene |
The present Wallpapers - All display is cumbersome to say the least. The older way, very small thumbnails of all of them was a tad hard to see, but it is preferable to what happens now, where hyperlinks for each image appear, and gradually get replaced by the images themselves. Very much a stumbling block on an otherwise great site. I've been coming here for over ten years, and I'm not going anywhere, but hey, this is a drag! |
||
David |
Ryan, You have got to do a wallpaper based on the latest picture from Pluto: http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/Multimedia/Science-Photos/image.php?page=1&gallery_id=2&image_id=300 |
||
Ryan |
Remember you need to set your display properties to "tile" the image. That's the only way for them to stretch across multiple screens. |
||
tjdmiii |
Have been a member for many years. But am disappointed in the fact that none of the wallpapers work on multi-screen (I have a triple monitor set-up) since Windows 10 was loaded...your zip downloads appear to stretch across the single screen to the triple screen...totally useless. |
||
Rob |
Ryan, I wish I could submit screenshots. I'm on a MBP and never have any slowness problems, unless I'm on your redesigned site. It's constantly using 100% CPU and scrolls so slowly... It's also not rendering correctly. It's the only site I have this problem with. Latest OS X and all updates... |

I liked being able to quickly see all the items in a given gallery (say by year) and pick a couple resolutions for several files with a couple clicks. With the new format, I have to click into each image to grab it and then go back. Is the old list style still available and just hidden? |

Hey, You recently sent out an e-mail asking what we though of the new "Ring of Fire," so here's my feedback: I think that you've come a very long way since 2006 and that your artwork had gone from very good to phenominal. Hope that you keep making amazing work. Robyn |

Hi, I've just purchased a one-year membership and began to download wallpaper images but images have a "Digital Blasphemy" watermark in the bottom right-hand corner. Am I doing something wrong? Having paid, I would assume that I would be able to find non-watermarked images? |

Hi Ryan, The 4kTV version of Harbinger 2009 (http://digitalblasphemy.com/content/jpgs/4k/harbinger2k914ktv.jpg) is corrupted; the size doesn't appear to be right, and there's a huge amount of white space above and below a cropped image. Can you fix this one please? A very satisfied Lifetime subscriber, John Hughan |

I run a couple monitors in portrait mode (eg. 1080x1920) and while some of the abstracts work well on the portrait screens while flipped, I was wondering if you ever had plans to offer some of the other works of art here in a portrait version. Keep up the amazing work! I can never get enough. |
||
Richard |
Hi Ryan, I used to visit your website a long time ago (over the last 10 years or so) and used to download the odd wallpaper here and there. Always mesmerised by the work you do, I revisited your site recently and saw your membership slide sale. Your slide sale prompted me to purchase a lifetime membership (I've never been a member of your site). I just want to say that you are producing some fantastic work. I particularly enjoy the renders which are abstract as well as those fantasy dreamscape type of scenes. All in all, brilliant work - I'm glad I joined your site and also glad I purchased the lifetime membership. Your artwork will now decorate my computer desktop for many years to come! Greetings from Richard in Brisbane, Australia :) |

In an earlier post, David asks: "David K "please convert older images to 3840x1080" Hey there -- you've got so many terrific older pieces that I would love to have on my dual screen. But they're all the wrong size. It woudl be awesome if you could start at the end and update some of the older files to 3840x1080 dual. It would make me very happy. :-) " I'd second this request for Triscreen wallpapers too, please. Some of my faves no longer fit. |
||
Dave |
I have a suggestion regarding the zip files containing your wallpapers. Is it possible to provide zip files of both your entire catalogue as well as an "update" zip file that only contains the previous years worth of art? That way, it would save on download for those members who may have very stingy data limits on their internet plans. Otherwise, love the artwork, its always so interesting and realistic. Ive even had people ask me where the photo of my desktop background was taken. Cheers, Great Work Always. |

Been visiting on and off since 1998 and always something interesting and cool. I have a 4 screen setup (not 2 x 2)in the office, so any chance of some renderings for a 1 x 4 display setup? The triples are great but sometimes don't span over 4 side-by-side screens to well. Got a membership last year and it's well worth it. Fantastic work. Many thanks for your efforts. :-) |

With the release of the LG G3 earlier this year and not the Samsung Note 4 last week, It'd be really awesome to see some 1440x2560 renders, maybe even some 7200x2560 for phones that support a "Scrolling" wallpaper. --Member for Life |

Hey man I've been keeping up with your wallpapers for a very long time now and have several years of memberships under my belt. I was disappointed that I couldn't find any wallpapers for my new LG 34UM94-P monitor that runs at 3440x1440. |
||
Chris |
Hi Ryan, I've been a fan of your wallpapers for a decade now and have been a member at a few different points. With a new tier of 21:9 Ultra Wide monitors coming around (LG 34um95, for example) I'm wondering if you plan on rendering any new wallpapers in this higher 3440x1440 resolution. I know you already make some 2560x1080 versions, but I'd love 3440x1440 for this new display! Thanks! |
||
Jenanne |
Thank you for satisfying my curiosity. Your artistic process is always intriguing. |
||
Ryan |
I will seriously look at revisions if the rating is in the low 7s (unless it's an abstract). |
||
Jenanne |
Is there a particular number for a new render (I mean the 1-10 ratings by members) at which you decide you will make changes? For example, if a render averages less than, say, an eight after a few days, do you take the critiques more seriously? Or are the ratings more of a general guide and even if the rating is lower than you'd like, you go with how happy you are with the render? I know this is a rather frivolous question; I'm just curious. If answering this isn't a high priority, I'll understand. :) |
||
Loren |
Ryan, I've been a lifetime member for several years, and a fan for probably a decade. You're images are haunting and beautiful, and they help ground me in a sense of wonder while I work. I was wondering if you have offered (or gave any thought to offering) renderings of some of your pieces intended as a spherical wallpaper? I can't say if Mercator projection or a cube (skybox) mapping would be the more readily accepted format, but I've been seeing many more GUI elements that jump into a 3D environment for tasks like changing desktops, etc. and I imagine it may become a common request. I also expect 3D headset environments to soon need similar spaces implemented for navigating between applications. I'd love to see your imagery in the background of my virtual environments, and would love to hear your thoughts on the prospect. Thanks, -Loren |

Good morning, i was just wondering/hoping now that I got my new LG G3 and that it has now been launched state side will you be adding it as a resolution to your images. It's resolution is by the way 1440 x 2560 |
||
Davies |
Your work is amazing. All of your wallpapers are absolutely gorgeous. i'm scuba diver and I was hoping you could make some of underwater themes? Like sharks and such? Seeing as you make such beautiful creations! :) |
||
Michelle |
I have been following you since the start! This is the second time I have signed up for membership. Your images are a breath taking mixture of reality and fantasy. I am mainly posting because I think the idea of sending thank you cards from you and your family is really sweet. I bet it teaches your boys a good lesson on treating other human beings well alongside the look into what Daddy does. The pay it forward ability is awesome too. Love your work and the human touches to your business. All the best to you and yours. |

Hi Ryan, 'Arctica' is one of my all-time favorites, top 5 for sure. Do you have the resources to make a 1920x1080 version? Also a dual monitor 3360x1050 version would be great too so I can use it at work. :) |

Not much purples here anyway we can get some sexy purple for 3840 x 1080? Purples are awesome! Just some feedback thanks for all the work you do! |

Sorry, I don't know how I totally missed it, but I see the 4K resolution zip file. My bad :( But I love it! Thanks! |
||
Jason |
I was wondering if you have any plans for a 4K or UHD zip file? I'm looking at a monitor that has 3840 x 2160 resolution. I see you have some 4K resolutions on your new images, but would like a zip file of them. Thanks for the great work, keep it up! |

Hi Ryan, The first link on the "Animated Wallpapers" page at http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/animation.shtml specifically "Have a video wallpaper for any version of Windows" going to http://www.vistarewired.com/2007/03/08/dreamscene-on-any-computer is now domain parked. If you wish to keep the link, I'd suggest a Wayback link like https://web.archive.org/web/20090212192237/http://vistarewired.com/2007/03/08/dreamscene-on-any-computer instead. PS: Not visited for a while so have some catching up to do - keep up the good work! |
||
Barry |
Hi! I know you already have a lengthy list of resolutions to support, but I'd like to throw a request in for some 3200x1800 renders (this is the native resolution on the newer Samsung and Lenovo ultrabooks, among others). I'm not sure whether this one is common enough to justify your time, but I figured I'd ask and hope that I'm not the only one. |
||
Ryan |
The iPad requires a square image to account for when you tilt your device from portrait to landscape (and back again). If it weren't square there would be black bars when you rotated your iPad. |
||
RC Davison |
Hi Ryan, Why do you set the resolution for the iPad HD to 2048x2048 when the screen is formatted as 2048x1536? With your latest wallpapers the image doesn't fit the screen properly on my iPad, whereas older images do seem to format properly. Thanks, Ron |
||
Mark |
The misspelled 'feedback' is on the /site.shtml page. |
||
Ryan |
I appreciate the feedback! Are there specific links that you think I should feature more prominently? I do hope the new structure gets easier to use with time. Can you tell me which page has the misspelling? |
||
Jenanne |
Hi, Ryan, I really did prefer the dropdown lists; with the new arrangement, I click and then have to hunt for the links I want. But perhaps in time I'll get used to this setup and like it just as well. Maybe correct the spelling of "feedback"? I bet I'm one of the few who noticed, though. :) |
||
b0bb1ns |
Hi Ryan, The years on the site only go up to 2013 so there's no index that lets you get to the new 2014 images. The mobile app lists 2014, but the images don't show, presumably for the same reason. Cheers Steve p.s. loving the WIP prismatic pool update (but I liked the original too) |
||
Craig |
I noticed you have Autumn and Winter as options for Wallpaper packages to download, any chance of making Summer and Spring options as well? Thanks! |
||
Alec |
I wish you had more art in the zazzle canvas section! Some of my favorites (Majesty, Grid, Endless Blue, Arakeen, Floating Garden, Sunspire) are not present. I will certainly be buying one or two during this sale though, I've been wanting some quality wall art for a while now. |
||
Patrick |
All of the dual monitor pictures don't fit on my screen correctly. They only span through the middle of the monitors but don't cover the whole desktop. Apparently the size I need is 3840x1080 but those aren't fitting right. Just wondering if you had any info about that. |
||

I use what is called "Basic Authentication" to verify your identity as a Member. This system has been built into web browsers since the very beginning for access control. Basically the only way to "log out" is to close your browser window. I do put a cookie on your computer which remembers that you are a Member so you aren't shown banner ads or my own Sign Up prompts. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question! |
||
Ray |
I just want you to explain to me why there is no log out button on your site? |
||
Ryan |
Which browser are you using? |

I can't download a picture as Wallpaper. When I right click I don't see a set as wallpaper as I used to. How do I download for wallpaper? |

I'm a programmer and love the extra vertical space offered by rotating my monitors. Any chance you'll play around with a few portrait renders (I'm 1440x2560, right now I have a manually rotated waveform and it looks ok...but it would be fun to have something other than just the abstracts that don't look funny on their sides). |
||
Mark Lulja |
I had grabbed the complete fresh zip of the FB Timeline resolution. Unfortunately, Waveform (Chrome) wasn't in there, since it's a pickle jar version. I've looked high and low just now, and I don't see a pickle jar zip at FB Timeline resolution. Any chance we could get one for easy periodic updates? Thanks for your consideration! |
||
Tom |
How about a nice "outdoor" wallpaper. Enough is enough. Thanks. |
||
kellzilla |
Found the random page by visiting your link-to buttons/banners page, which hasn't been updated to the top-nav page. If you could add this to Wallpapers and/or Site, I would dearly love it so I don't have to have three DB bookmarks (currently have one for wip and one for dbhome) :) http://digitalblasphemy.com/cgi-bin/random.cgi |
||
kellzilla |
There used to be a random wallpaper option before the redesign that put all the navigation at the top of the page. Did that go the way of the dodo or am I just not finding it, in which case maybe it needs better location? For reference, if it does exist, I looked both under Wallpapers and Site before I google searched site:digitalblasphemy.com to no avail. |
||
Troy |
I've been a lifetime member for some time now, and I like to have all of your wallpapers shuffling in my backrground every few minutes, so I download your zip file that has everything for my resolution. Problem is, in order to make sure I get updates to my list without having to manually follow what you're doing daily and manually download the new stuff, every once in a while I re-download the entire file again. That's a lot of bandwidth. I think it'd be really cool if you added a read-only member-login rsync option for members, so we can just rsync the directory for our resolution every once in a while and only get the updated or changed images. It'd save tons of bandwidth, and your members could stay up to date with all of your works easily. |
||
Ryan |
Yes, you can still add time to a Lifetime Membership. |

I noticed this rather curious statement on the renewal page: "If you purchase a 1-year renewal then your account expiration date will be set to June 15, 2111." Really? |

Last year you made the most amazing dragon for the Chinese New Year. This year is the year of the snake. In fact, in Tibet it's the year of the Water Snake (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Losar#Dates). Any chance of a snake wallpaper for this year? :-) |
||

Make that 2160x1920... |

Apparently the S4 can handle HD wallpapers at 1080x1920, any chance of that rez becoming available? |
||
Jenanne |
The location of this site comments is really out of sight and mind; I had trouble finding it at first. It would be more useful and effective if you put the link to it on the home page, perhaps below the "in progress" link or below the FB feed. Just an idea. |
||
Lee |
...a DB image as the background on Elon Musk's Twitter page... https://twitter.com/elonmusk |
||
Jenanne |
I love where you've located the "in progress" members preview. Very easy to quickly check out your current projects and stay involved in the process. And I like the minimalist render you're working on, which I've mentally named "not so bullet-proof glass." Will you be adding a comments area for the preview area, or would that inhibit the creative process too much? |
||
Devon |
Would it possible to get the 5760x1200 files as split 1920x1200 files? I am constantly having to bring them into photoshop and split them myself. |
||
David K |
Hey there -- you've got so many terrific older pieces that I would love to have on my dual screen. But they're all the wrong size. It woudl be awesome if you could start at the end and update some of the older files to 3840x1080 dual. It would make me very happy. :-) Keep doing what you're doing. I am a big fan. |

Been loving your art for years. Finally able to afford a membership. Just signed up tonight! looking foward to even better quality visuals vs free stuff. Amazed with your talent and imagination. Once did surealis myself at one time(high school;college). Lost it somehow or maybe too busy. Would love to mass download all your work somehow. Great Work!!! |

Salutations, I love your work and check it regularly to see what you have coming down the shoots. I envy your abilities as I have only started developing mine on a digital interface. I do not think you ever take requests, but I thought I would slot my two cents in anyway. Have you ever seen "The Chronicles of Riddick?" I hope so - I love that series. Anyway, in it, there is a planet called Crematoria. I request that you do some dual screen piece based on that planet/universe. Boss. As you were Chief. Respectfully, Andross |

Hi, love the work. Any chance we could get a count of how many of the images are in each Zip file? I partially go off the size of the download but I would like to know how many are in each resolution packaged without needing to download it. Also I agree with Victor below, having a date that they were last updated would be great too. Thanks! |

I'd love to be able to display some of your awesome images across all 5 monitors. Any chance on getting a custom render at 10,080x1600? |

Hey Ryan: I was playing Minecraft today with some friends and we got to talking about weather. I know you've been working on some major projects lately, so I don't know if this will appeal to you or not. One of my friends got to talking about how cool it would be to live on another planet that was so cold that it would freeze a lightning bolt in midair as it struck. I don't know how you would do something like that, but I thought if you liked the idea enough, you could make it work. Yeah, I know - random comvos on Minecraft. ;) Maybe something along the lines of a bolt that hit the icy ground and started freezing on the return stroke, as ice shattered out or something. Thoughts? You don't have to respond, but I thought I'd toss it out there. Thanks for your time. :) Ben |

I haven't been here for a while, but today I wanted to find the several versions of Elegy. I finally found "Search" under the site tab, but it brought up over 120 results, like it's doing a full word search instead of just looking for titles. I don't want to have to go sifting through scores of documents that have nothing to do with your artwork other than a tangential reference to a title. Also, the thumbnails, even on my 23" monitor, are very hard to see, so I can't tell how many of them are the same image, or which ones might be variations. I liked the old Search, where the box was always available at the top of the page, and it just looked for titles of your art work. I suppose a full search is OK for people who want to read text, but at least give us a choice to only search for pictures. Thanks - Lo' P.S. - The Name block on the Site Comments page is only 10 characters long??? |

Hey Ryan, I sometimes use a small little laptop that only has a 600 pixel vertical resolution, and when I drop down the "wallpapers" menu to try and access the zip files, I can't because the zip file item is right at the bottom and the menu is too long for my screen. My poor little netbook isn't that big screened! Thanks! |
||
Victor |
If it is possible could the date that the zip file was last updated be posted next to the file so people know how up to date they are. Thanks in advance. |
||

So, I know this would be a ton of work. But have you ever thought of doing a "real-time" in the day of a planet series. It would make a real cool animated background/screen saver. In other words, if you got to see the light changes in a scene from dawn-day-dusk-night-dawn and would sink with the users computer clock. As I said, I know this would be a huge project, and as a lifetime member, I would be willing to pay extra for such a "screen-saver". The idea comes from an old screen saver "Joe Castaway" where the background matched the users time of day. Another cool animated background/screen saver would be "Portals" with the portal windows changing images, just like the Star Trek episode you mentioned. Just a couple thoughts. |

I first would like to say I love your work and look forward to every update you post. I have noticed that you haven't done a city landscape or one of you "Gotham" scenes for awhile and I thought that if you were to make a new one that a Tron themed one would look spectacular. I would love to see your take on "The Grid" environment. |

Interesting. It looks like the page doesn't get refreshed after you log in and click the button to return to the page you were at before. Because it looks like members *AREN'T* shown that block. Wonder if there's a way to code the return button to force a refresh of the page so that it doesn't show the become-a-member block to a now-logged-in member. |

I don't think members should be shown the "Become a member!" block if they're logged in. Especially lifetimers. ;) |

I was reading through the "F.A.Q." section and saw this listing: "This really cool movie/book/tv show just came out. Can you make a wallpaper based on it? I'm sorry, but no. Copyright issues aside, I would just rather create original works." I fully understand your position. As a huge San Francisco 49er fan I was wondering if you have ever considered doing 'your take' on their logo. I don't know the technicalities and if that would fall under the copyright thing or not. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks for all the great pics. |

The Kindle Fire's 1024 x 600 resolution matches the Netbook resolution for which you already provide a render. With the millions of Fires being sold, you might consider ammending the label for that resolution. On a related note, at what point (if any) would you consider providing a portrait-oriented render at the same resolution, i.e., 600 x 1024? |

Ryan, I have been a huge fan of your work for sometime now and recently have been enjoying the delights of my new 3D compatible TV. It has 2D to 3D converter software built in which, as the name would imply, converts 2D still or moving images into 3D. Some images work better than others but I am certain that it is your artwork that makes the greatest impression. However some images are interpreted erroneously and I was wondering if you had considered making any fully rendered 3D images. I have no idea how difficult it might be but am certain that they would be very popular with 3D tv/monitor users. Keep up the fantastic work. WW |

Since you redesigned the site I have a hard time finding where to login, when I am on a season (Halloween) the images are so small I have to click on them and instead of giving me the next Halloween image when I use the forward/previous arrows I get something unrelated. I am a very long time customer, but it takes too long now to search for a wallpaper to post for the season on my computers (which is why I subscribe). Even finding how to contact you was a pain...why not just a "contact us" button? You have sent my my renew notice, for the first time in years I am going to decline. I liked when it was simple to just login, click on Halloween and change the wallpaper every day...now it is a search fest. Yuk. |
||
Ryan |
Sorry about that, I moved the box to the right column on my home page but I guess it isn't far enough up on the page. I've added a link to my search page under the "Site" heading in the link bar. The link goes to this page (which you can bookmark if you'd prefer). Unfortunately I don't have a wallpaper version of my Google Profile pic available (yet). It is basically this wallpaper (the 1024 x 1024) version uploaded to Google and then messed slightly using their online tools during the process of making it my profile pic. |

Ever since the redesign of the website, I've had trouble finding the Search box. Today I want to see that glorious new rendition of Fluoressence that you put up on Google+ (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GEYPqqIN8ck/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABM/vk6BIZq7_d0/photo.jpg?sz=200) but I can't find any way to search for it, short of going through each tiny thumbnail up on DB site. Thanks for your attention, Ryan -- I've been a fan and member for years and find this VERY frustrating. Gayle in New York City |

Just a quick one to say I love your work. Bought a membership a couple of years ago with a small chunk of my student loan and let in run out, have just bought another subscription after a two year absence. Wish I'd never left, it's great seeing how this site and your work continues to progress. Keep up the good work Ryan, this time next year my credit card will be more than convinced to purchase that lifetime membership, I'm sure of it! |

Hey Ryan. My friends and I have been fans since school days in the late 90's, loved your work then and love it still! =D Scenes like Highland Spring i find incredibly uplifting.. like the universe is a fantastic place and anything is possible! That feeling that comes so easy as a child but too oft gets lost as an adult :) Anyway, best wishes from New Zealand and keep up the amazing work! Damien |

Hey Ryan, I've been an avid fan of your works for a while now (just like everyone else on here), and everything is great. However, like someone previously mentioned, it would be nice to have an option to log out on our DB accounts if we're on a shared computer or in a public, unfriendly environment. The tracking cookie always remembers our login information, which is good, but it would be nice to consider having the opposite feature as well. Thanks! Loving the wallpapers. :) |

Select Wallpapers, then select 2011 Gallery, then along the sides he has a bunch of ways to narrow down the various "styles" of wallpapers he has: by year, and by type. Not all holiday images are represented by a "type", sadly; only the ones that get a significant number of representations. |

My husband and I were just talking about how it would be nice to be able to find things by category or season on the site, so in the fall or at Halloween or Christmas it would be easier to find those wallpapers. We like to change them daily for our daughter to see. Thanks and keep up the good work! |

I've been a member fairly consistently since 2002, my freshmen year of college. At the time, I had been scouring the Internet for respectable (and inspiring) "space" wallpapers for my newly acquired Dell laptop. As a math major, "laws" that apply generally or universally (pun intended) are a strange source of comfort in a world ripe with exceptions to the rule, the subjective, and fallacies of logic and reason. There were, from what I recall of my initial google(maybe? ... probably) search, few sources offering anything remotely close to what I was looking for. Then, as I refined my search, undeterred by the possibility that what I wanted didn't exist(I was clearly fueled by the idealism one ingests during freshmen year) there appeared first on my list of results a curious site called digitalblasphemy.com. I entered, and in the interest of brevity, let's just say I never left. Every one of the wallpapers on my 2 PCs, 1 Mac, 2 iPhones, and 2 iPads since have been from your gallery. So, I hope that summarizes my experience and appreciation of your work thus far. One suggestion I hope you find interesting and achievable (ok, two suggestions): 1. Most of your planetscapes are (of an observer?) looking outward from a "home planet" or world toward other nearby visible planets or moons that occupy a large portion of the morning/midday/night sky. I'm sure there's some underlying theme to be noticed and appreciated, but would you ever consider imagining our own world from the edge of space looking at the horizon (similar to "fish eye" but with some topography, like the himalayas or some other feature)? 2. A rendering of you're vision of the entire universe. Probably too much to ask but interesting to consider nonetheless. Appreciate the time, and look forward to hearing any comments you have on the foregoing babble I've strung together. JD |

I've been an admirer for years, but just a few months ago, i became a lifetime member. I just wanted to tell you how incredible i think your talent is. Don't ever stop. |

I just became a member after following your work for a couple of years now. Your work is simply amazing. I would, however, like to request or know how to log out. I'm on a shared computer, and I can't figure it out. I noticed Skyweir and Eduardo asked about this in Oct./Nov. 2010. Kellzilla suggested closing the browser automatically logs you out, but mine doesn't. Please help. I don't like my information available to the other users. Again, thank you for your talent. |

When clicking your gallery links, it takes me to the selection - then I click "back" and the page reloads. Any chance of getting the picture links to open in a new tab/window? Then after saving, I can just close the tab. Your site won't even allow me to open a link in a new tab manually. Thanks for the great work! |

Is it just me or has the text from your FB posts started appearing in black (on the DB main page) for other people too? Just a little annoying because I need to highlight the text to see what you've written. |

I do support dual 16:9. Check the zip files here. |

I just want ur wallpapers to all be able to download 16:9 dual screen. Is that so hard. I don't even know anyone who has a 4;3 screen. |

I have a new android phone (galaxy s fascinate) and was having some annoyance getting the DB wallpapers to work without needing to fiddle with the cropping thing.. until I found the Wallpaper Changer free app (link below, cause I figure other DB fans might like it). This app works beautifully. All you need do is point it to your folder of sexy DB wallpapers, and then hit the button when you want a new one to show. https://market.android.com/details?id=de.j4velin.wallpaperChanger&feature=search_result |

I'd LOVE to see you create some screen savers, or convert (or teach me how haha) the animated ones you have to screen savers. I look EVERYWHERE online for animated screen savers and they're impossible to find. Thanks for your hard work, it's amazing! |
||

At the moment, the PlayBook only supports landscape wallpapers, so it doesn't matter too much. If I rotate to portrait mode in the browser, the 1024x1024 image is being scaled to perserve aspect ratio, so it still ends short on one axis. I don't think there's anything to be done about it on your end. |
||
Ryan |
Thanks for the feedback David. I do not have a Playbook to test this on, but I was under the impression that the image had to be square so account for the user rotating the device between landscape and portrait orientations. Otherwise you would need to load a different sized wallpaper each time you rotated your tablet. Let me know if I am wrong about this. Thanks for visiting all these years. |
||
David |
Just recently renewed my membership...lifetime member now :). I noticed that you list "PlayBook" as a 1024x1024 image, the same as iPad. The PlayBook is actually 1024x600, the same as Netbook. After 13 years of visiting your site, that's the only criticism I could come up with, so keep up the great work! |
||

I think that is a Chrome specific message. Are you having trouble with Firefox as well? |

As of the last couple of weeks, I get the following error message: The webpage at http://digitalblasphemy.com/content might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Error 15 (net::ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED): Unknown error. Is the member portion of the site up? Any help lyou can provide would be appreciated. Thanks |

As you just said that you have a few spare render machines, is it possible to fill a few gaps in regards to multi-screen wallpapers that never got rendered. For instance some of the 'Highland' series? Being a 3D guy myself I know this is a huge job, but ive got a 2x 2560x1440 setup and would love to get some more of my older favourites in this res. Chopping triple monitor res' doesnt cut it. Perhaps a way for Ian to earn some pocket money ;) Thanks for being the inspiration for my career. |
||
Lawrence |
Is it possible to revisit some of your old backgrounds and bring them up to date with regards to the new screen sizes and resolutions. I went back to 1999 and found a beautiful background but the resolution was a bit small I stretched and made it fit but somehow I feel I lost some of the personality of the picture. Thank you for listening. |
||
Jon E |
Overall amazing digital images, always loved this site. Would love to see images with none of the "grainyness" that some tend to show, mostly on water sometimes elsewhere. I'm guessing this would make the file sizes huge, but I'm not sure...? |
||
Brian |
Would it be possible to make mobile wall papers for the Samsung Fascinate? |
||
Ryan |
Yes Chris, I have a script which updated the zips with the new images. It doesn't however, take out images when I add updated renders. This means the zips contain the gallery images and a fair number of pickle jar images as well. |
||
Chris |
Just a quick question, are the zip files updated as soon as you produce something new? Thanks so much for your excellent work Ryan! |
||
Jon |
Ryan, I totally adore the Blue-Glowing Mushrooms (Flouresence). However, I was wondering, have you ever tried making it into different colors? When I was on Facebook today, I saw the yummy desert that almost appeared white, and thought, wow, that white version looks cool, where can I d/l it? Then I had to blow the picture up to realize it was food. SO I wonder, maybe instead of just blue and red, some white, yellow or even purple? Just some ideas. |
||
Ryan |
Someday I may be able to take advantage of those services. Right now I am limited by my country DSL (~1MBs). |
||
Kevin |
Ryan, Have you considered using a cloud rendering service of some sort so you don't have to spend a lot of cash on new hardware all the time and get your scenes done quicker? |
||
BillS |
Like others here, I took my time becoming a member of your site. I have been checking the Free area since 2001. I am a bit embarrassed to say that since I kept telling myself, ‘”When I have the extra money...” Well, it never seemed to happen. So, I just decided to cut out the stupid excuses I kept making and begin paying for what I have enjoyed these 10 years. Thank you for your vision and thought provoking images. |

the easter eggs are certainly beautiful but as for i am more in favor of my Jewish roots rather than celebrating easter i usually and do celebrate the Passover, counting of the omer, the passover sedar etc. but thank you anyway, can you possibly render some of the listed above ? |

Chris B |
they already fixed it in a virus update this morning, updated my anti-virus and no more warnings. |

Hey Ryan. My AVAST Antivirus keeps popping up a virus alert when I go anywhere on your site (it just started today, yesterday it was fine). I know it isn't a real trojan, it looks like it is interpreting the facebook "like" or "share" button as a trojan for some reason. Could be all of the spammed spyware that has been messaged throughout facebook the last week or so. Just giving you a heads up if you haven't heard anything. Don't want to scare people away. (and it's sort of annoying to hear, "Threat has been Detected" when I go click anywhere) The string that shows up is: www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?id=22336144105&wi there's more but it doesn't show. |
||
Ryan |
Thanks for the wonderful post. I am so glad you are enjoying my DecalGirl collection. They've been great to me so far and the skins look wonderful! I read through your list and found most of them, plus about 15 other "classics" that I think would make interesting skins. The 109 MB file is uploading right now and I will let you know when they are available on the DecalGirl site! |
||
Melita |
Been a lifetime member since I first found DB many years ago - always have a DB image as my wallpaper both at work and at home, and have given out the site address whenever anyone commented on them or asked where I got them. Hope at least a couple of them have taken the plunge and also become members. :) Writing now to thank you for the licensing/partnership of your work to DecalGirl - and hoping you'll make a few more images available in time. I am now happy to be able to show off your work on the outside of my Kindle (Reverie, seemed rather appropriate given that the first time I saw the Kindle's App icon, Reverie immediately came to mind), and my G2 Android (Endless Blue, another particular favorite). I am hoping that some of my other old favorites may be made available someday, like Spring/Summer Wood, Once Upon & Dusk, Sakura, Satori, First Light/Moonlight, Enclave, Untouched, and Archipelago. But, if making more of them available isn't feasible (or isn't wanted on their end), it's still nice just to be able to have what's out there right now. Kinda neat to still be able to enjoy and share your work even when all my electronic gadgets are turned off. ;) [And for anyone else wondering about them - the skins are very well done - not cheap materials, fit perfectly, and don't require even as much skill to put on as the average PDA/cell/iPod screen protector does. The adhesive leaves no residue, and the images are reproduced with great color quality. I'd be impressed with them even if they were not also available with DB images - but doubt I'd have ever bought one to find that out in the first place if they hadn't been. :) ] |

Ryan, Just wanted to start off by saying that I love the site and you're work always looks great on my computer and smart phone. Any chance that you can incorporate wallpapers for the new Motorola Xoom tablet? Thanks, Anthony |

Haven't been here for a while and have revisited your site a few days ago. Browsing through your galleries I have both discovered exiting new wallpapers and rediscovered those I liked a few years ago. I am still thrilled by your work - thanks and keep it coming! Cheers, Christine |

Hi! Just a quick inquiry...did you decide not to do a GG-Winter? I keep looking for it, but nada. My screensavers are season/holiday appropriate and I was hoping to add the GG winter to the Winter Moon/Snowy Creek/Desert Dawn/Desert Snow/November Snow/December group. BTW: A "Huge Thanks" for the many outstanding scenes that you have created over the years. Laurel |
||
Dan |
Can you possibly add the 1600x900 size to your list? I would like to have the image snug into the screen rather than having some of the image clipped to fit the screen. If you can't that is ok. Thanks |
||
Drachen |
When I switched over to Windows 7 many moons ago, one of the great little widgets in it was being able to point it at a directory of pictures and let it cycle as wallpaper automatically. Without 3rd party software involved. Of course the DB zip file for my resolution was a first choice to hit. Looking for more. I recently downloaded the pickle jar of the same. WOW. I have used the pickle jar when I wanted to see some different tweak of the same image or when a change happened and I preferred the original. But this was like a whole new gallery for some of the wallpapers. A lot of folk no matter what their creative focus is, will only allow access to what they feel is "their best effort". With the pickle jar you have given us a whole batch of alternatives that show an even greater breadth. Thanks. |

Thank you for the prompt reply, Ryan! Now at least I know it's not a glitch. My problem might also have to do with my browser settings, too, since often I have to try several times. I've learned to save my comments on notepad so I don't have to retype them if I'm logged off. |
||
Ryan |
Sorry for the confusion Jenanne. The site will remember your username (and your account info) with a cookie but the actual authentication must be done each time you visit in order to post comments, rate images, or download. Let me know if anything is unclear! |
||
Jenanne |
Since the new site has gone into effect, I've noticed a login glitch. When I go to your site, it says "Welcome, Jenanne" since I signed in and saved my password and name. But when I try to comment, the login screen comes up and is blank. I either have to enter my password and name again, which is a hassle since I have to look it up, or my message is erased and I'm logged off. Is it just me or are others having this problem? Thank you, Ryan. |

Dear Ryan, One of my best friends and I have enjoyed using your desktop wallpapers for years since 2006. I am nearing the end of my first ever one year subscription and I wanted to tell you - in a world that is dominated by people just trying to make a quick buck, you have been an inspiration of hope; a beacon of light. You have shown that someone can make a living on pure creativity and at the same time bring beautiful slices of our most awesome dreams onto our desktops. Thank you, Ryan, and Merry Christmas. "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." -- Albert Einstein |

I agree with the others. Your artwork is absolutely amazing. I try and log on as much as i can to check for any new ones. My friends always ask where i get the images from and I know a few have joined the site with us. I am a lifetime member and plan to see great things from you. The only thing i wish i would see more are the scenic images with animals. Like the one with the deer drinking from the creek.(to me that is absolutely beautiful. I'd love to see images like that with ducks also maybe in a pond maybe in the marsh. I thinks things like that woould be a huge hit with all the sportsmen like myself. Great work and I hope to see many more to come. Best wishes Dennis Bonvillian "LIFETIME MEMBER" |

I've been clicking through the random image function recently, and several times have run up against a 404 error. Not sure if you've got misspelled image names in there or what, have never been fast enough to catch what it was trying to pull up before returning the error. |

The site is looking a bit sophomoric, lately. Please bring back that classy look. For what it's worth. |
||
kellzilla |
Don't know if you want to get into it since you're going to redo the whole thing anyway, but have you ever thought of making a mobile.db.com? Or using some code to see if a user's using a mobile browser version and showing them a pared down site? (I really recommend either option for the remake, btw. Phone browsing is more and more necessary to code for!) |
||
Ryan |
Too big you think? I'm trying to make my site a little easier to browse on my mobile. |

Ryan, I agree with Eduardo. The lack of a log out button has always bothered me too, even though closing the connection does the same thing. As a lifetime member of only five years, I realize that I have little say in the discussion, but it does make one feel more secure. Thanks for listening and keep up the great art that has kept me enthralled for these wondorous years. |
||
Eduardo |
Not exactly true, at least not into an iPad. That's why I came up with the logout button topic again :S but thanks anyway @kellzilla it's good to know that |
||
kellzilla |
DB's cookies are coded so that when you close your browser, it logs you out. There's your log out button. |
||
Eduardo |
Hi Ryan, me again. In this world of shared PCs, mobile devices, smartphones and work/school computers out there, I also consider the logout button as an important request to the site. My mind definitely will be in peace after that logout click even in my own PC: Maybe it’s a classic ;) |
||
Eduardo |
Hi Ryan, Months ago I took the Lifetime membership train and I’m very glad I did. Honestly, I thought it was the right choice for supporting your awesome work. My suggestion for the site is quite simple. Under ‘Free Mobile Wallpapers’ section of each wallpaper, BlackBerry resolutions should be shown as number model instead of name model. I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700 (480x360 screen) but ‘BlackBerry Bold’ in that section applies only for the BlackBerry Bold 9000 model (480x320 screen). This same situation happens with the BlackBerry Curve which actual screen size may differ because ‘BlackBerry Curve’ under that section applies only to Curve 8900 model (480x360). Here in Mexico, the BlackBerry Curve 8320/8520 models are common, but their actual screen size is 480x320. The BlackBerry Curve 8300 was the first Curve model and its screen was 320x240. That's it. Your work looks amazing in both my PC and my smartphone. I just made this suggestion to avoid misleading labels and because I noticed you already use number models for BlackBerry available resolutions (but it's mixed with name models). |
||

Hey Ryan, loving your work! I have the zip download on rotate, so wonderful as I see new ones! Some of them invoke such feeling; amazing. I look forward to a time when these are made in a massive 3D environment and we can move around like an observer and experience as a whole setting! Anyway, I was wondering if you ever felt compelled to make any portrait-orientation wallpapers? Could be a fun experiment :) I had a look around but didn't find any. Cheers |

Hi Ryan, I know I've been a pest. I am really sorry. I desperately need some kind of written document with a signature that I have permission from you to "commercially" use DigitalBlasphemy images in my videos. I only recently made partner and they've disabled countless ads on my videos (and they could delete my videos altogether if they wanted to) because they question my rights to use the images that I have in the videos. If I had something in writing that I could refer them to every time, they would not be able to question me. As it is, they're even questioning my right to use my own music, and many of the opticals and visual images in my videos I made from scratch. If they were halfway observant they would see that I do make stuff from scratch from time to time LOL. Again I'm very sorry for the hassle. My username here on DB is BroBryce2009. Please fax any signed documents I could use to my wife Julie Tomlinson at 503-723-2085. Thank you once again and I hope to have this resolved. If there are any questions or anything you can think of that can help the situation, please don't hesitate to contact me: Bryce L. The new design to add thumbnail images to the render posts is a great idea. However, now the date is mashed in with the text and looks...bad. It'd look better on its own line above the image, left-justified, just to keep the flow better (posts with no render thumbnail have the date left-justified - should also have the date on its own line for those posts as well, for matchy-matchy) |

I also wonder about Highland Summer. Will it be reworked, or do we have to wait until next summer? I'm using the cloud version, and I like it. |

I've been using DB images for my backgrounds for years now. Last month I started my first job, I just got my first salary and now I'm lifetime member ^^. Thnx for the amazing artwork Ryan! |

I love the Halloween 2008 "New Playmate". Is there any way to lighten up the background just a little because I can barely make out the black cats? Thanks so much. |
||
Alberich |
I also went looking for Highland Summer and couldn't find it. Oddly, following a link to the page loads up the page and image, but as soon as the image finishes loading the page redirects to the "oops" message. I was able to find the Pickle Jar, and so I've put up the cloudy version for now, but the main Highland Summer page is apparently inaccessible. |
||
Daanoz |
Hey Ryan, I justed search on Zazzle if they are producing (jigsaw) puzzles of your wallpapers, I couldn't find it though. Is it me? Would be great if people could order your wallpaper as a large puzzle! Keep up the good work! -- Daanoz |
||
cmmnoble |
Hi Ryan, What happened to Highland Summer? It seems to have disappeared from the new images gallery, and the links to it in your "update" messages from when it was first posted are redirecting to random images. |
||
Snowghost |
Thanks for putting up the Halloween / Christmas link |
||
Ryan |
Really "Highland Spring" is my "Valley" update, I just didn't use the name. |
||
Ryan |
Unfortunately I don't think any of my digital files will look very good printed that large. If you insist on trying I recommend you download the largest size available. Have you looked at my prints available from Zazzle? Some of them run pretty large. |
||

Hi, I became a member recently, and I want to put an image on my bedroom wall. The size of the wall is 3 x 2 meters (9,84 x 6,56 feet). What is the ideal dowload size of the image? |
||
Unclegumby |
Just wondering if there was any inclination to updating or at creating a widescreen version of valley2k? Thank you |
||
Snowghost |
Thanks, I read all the into stuff on the left side before I joined, and it mentioned that members would have access to holiday and special event renderings. And like you I was unable to locate any thing about holiday and special event renderings. He is producing way fewer images these days and the quality shows. Thanks for your input on this |
||
kellzilla |
I thought at one time there was a page or two for holiday images, but that may have been lost in the "transitional site" changes, or I may just be remembering things that never were. In any case, I can't find any "holiday images" section now, so yes, you'll just have to go through the images by year --- wallpapers > gallery > 1997 through 2010 at the top --- and look yourself. Luckily as Ryan has gotten better, he's taken more time on his renders, so the most recent years are much easier to search through versus the hundreds of images from the first couple years! LOL |
||
Snowghost |
Thanks for the information. Ond more ?, are the holiday/special event drawing blended in with the rest of the drawing's. Thank I got the rest of it figured out |
||
kellzilla |
The "member gallery" where members posted their work has been taken down. I don't remember if Ryan said he would be returning it when the new site style comes out. |
||
Ryan |
Sorry for the confusion. Basically the whole site is the "Members Area". Just go to the "New Images" page or the "Gallery" page and start downloading. You will be asked for your login when you click the link to download a hi-res file. Let me know if you have any other questions! |
||
Snowghost |
Where is the members area, first time here and these should be a members only area, I just can't find any links for members area. I don't thank this is it, I was expecting to see members work. TIA for a little guidance |

I finally got around to getting my Lifetime Membership, especially considering I've been kinda mooching the free wallpapers since you first started (gulp) in 1997. Yeah, I have a seriously guilty conscience...but I've relieved that guilt with a full-on lifetime purchase (retroactive those 13 years! haha). Can't wait to check out all the MEMBER stuff now!! :D |

Absolutely love the site - got hooked in college, let the subscription expire (darn poor college student woes), but now I'm back for life! |

Love the site! I was wondering if you were going to add resolutions for the Droid 2 device. They are 480x854. I have tried to load other resolutions on the device but the download fails. |

I know animations take a long time to create and process, but are you planning on creating a new one anytime soon? Other than the anies, I generally prefer realistic ones, but the abstract ones are pretty awe inspiring too. Have you ever thought of doing something in the surreal genre? Such as Salvadore Dali, for example? Or even something along the lines of M.C. Escher? I bet those would be awesome.... On a personal note, I feel your loss for your Grandfather; my mother passed away in 2007, and I still miss her.... |
||
E_man |
Have you thought about converting the animated wallpapers into live wallpapers for android? That'd be amazing if you did! Just a thought. |
||
JMD |
Abstract vs. Reals: I kind of like the proportion you have going on right now. More reals than abstract. I prefer the realistic pictures, but I have no problems interspersing abstract pictures. I tend to make them my backgrounds more in winter than any other season, sometimes they're just what's needed for my current mood. Keep up the excellent work. |

The only way to get to this post is to log in and click the comment link at the bottom of the "welcome, my site has changed, look at these links" page instead of a link on the home page. The only way to get to the "pay it forward" page is to find it under "members" instead of having a widget on the home page. |
||

On the home page, that is. |

Half the content of the right-hand column of the site disappeared sometime between this morning and this evening. The link to this page, the facebook widget, the zazzle widget, etc, is all missing. Only the DecalGirl widget and the free gallery widget is still there. |

I think all of what you do is amazing and thank you for inspiring everyone who sees your site to want to do this kind of art. |
||
Jerel |
Hey Ryan, When I attempt to download the wallpaper by either going to the site from my computer and send myself the link or download it the site from my phone, I get an unsuccessful download message. I used the 960 x 854 size as you suggested and tried the Iphone 4 (640 x 960) dimensions. |
||
Mike |
I'm sure you've considered it...and the extra server overhead might break the bank but - my environment isn't exactly secure, and I'd hate to be the one who compromises your archives. $.02 delivered. |
||
Ryan |
The 960 x 854 images should fit the Droid X. I need to label them as such. |
||
Jerel |
Do we have any wallpapers that will fit the new Droid X? |

I have noticed that if I am not logged into the site, the home page text is rendered in bold. If I am logged in, the home page text is normal. |

I have been a fan and a member since almost the beginning and even bought the CD to have the wallpapers all in one place rather than down loading them one at a time. But my appreciation has come to a new level lately. After realizing that Windows 7 had its own app for rotating wallpapers I downloaded all of the widescreen 1680X1050s in a single zip and pointed Windows at it with shuffle enabled. WOW! With some its like visiting old friends, with others it is a new appreciation of the detail and color/composition. Thanks again Ryan for putting all of that together in a way I could re-appreciate your fine work together. |
||
Deirdre |
I have been a fan of DB for almost 10 years, and finally decided to 'vote with my dollar' and buy a lifetime membership. I love the art, the colors, the variety of resolutions, and hope my support will help it continue for much longer. |
||
Walo |
Windows 7 themes are very easy to make on your own, as long as you have a folder with your db images in it all you have to do is to create a new theme and select the location of the pictures to that folder. |
||
SCM |
Ryan, Have you ever considered creating a Digital Blasphemy windows 7 theme? Perhaps one using some of your free images. Just a thought. Love the backgrounds, great work, mostly thank you for sharing your talent with us. |
||
Nate F |
Hi Ryan, first of all, great work with the site and backgrounds over the years. Anyhow, just wanted to let you know (if you dont already) that there is a neat program for Windows that adds more use to your images. It is called Logon Screen Rotator, it is for Windows Vista and 7 (soon XP). Basically, it lets you have automatically changing backgrounds on the Windows logon screen (ie. per logon, per boot). http://lukepaynesoftware.com/lsrotator/ Just thought you might want to let people know about it. |
||
Walo |
Yeah it's confirmed that he removed them from the Android Market app. |
||
Ryan |
He claims to have removed them. The themes are listed on a bunch of Android marketplace sites so they need to go too. |

I've sent you the email with the screen captures. |
||
Walo |
I found those using the Market app on my Evo. I tried with the website but like you said it doesn't have any search options and browsing is very limited. I'll try to get a screen capture on the phone and mail it to you. |
||
Ryan |
I tried to find these on the Android Market website but couldn't. Too bad there is no search. Could you perhaps send me a link? |
||
Ryan |
Good point! I've set the link to only display to non-Members. |
||
Walo |
After looking at his other apps I discovered he has other db wallpapers as "Themes" as well. Like "World's Edge Winter", "Axiomatic" and "Agni". |
||
Walo |
Ryan, there's somebody selling an HD theme in the Android Market. The wallpaper is the spring version of Canopy Creek. Also that person is charging $0.99 for it. The theme name is "HD Theme - Creepy" and the creator's web site is www.creatureapps.com. |

I am logged in. There is a big ol' red link on the left that says "sign up". Being that the rest of the links are white, this big ol' finger-shake to the free users feels a little out of place to a member... |

On your WIP page, you have information about when each image was posted and what software was used. Would you be able to put that information on the individual image pages? Or is there somewhere else I can find that information for images no longer on the WIP page? |
||
John |
I Love it,and saved it locally. But for my vote I would stick with the released version #2. Great job Ryan and love the new site Thanks Gandalf |

People game ratings all the time, deliberately rating higher or lower than they actually think just to mess with the ratings. Not just here, but everywhere there are ratings to mess with. |
||
Jenanne |
It seems in almost every image you do, Ryan, at least one person rates it "1", the worst possible rating. Perhaps, and this is just a suggestion, you might make it clearer that 10 is best and 1 is worst. Either that, or you have several members who hate everything you render, but keep paying for it anyway. :) |
||

Logging in at http://digitalblasphemy.com/content/ will set a cookie on your machine that will keep the ads from displaying for 90 days regardless if you are logged in or not. Let me know if this doesn't help! |

I don't really like that you have to log in every time you visit the site. I'm not going to log in just to get rid of ads. I assume it's just not possible w/ your server settings or something? Idk but it finally bothered me enough to post about it. Keep up the good work :) |

The link to extrasolar's comments, on the top of your main page, is broken. It points to 'extrasolar1' which you nixed. The one first link to that pic is fine, just the comments one. |

Ah, I see what your saying now. That works, thanks. |

Doesn't work on drop down menus, at least not for me. |

The two files are created by a different PS action (the 1080p one came first) and the area cropped is different. I need to rework it. |
||
Ali |
Hey Ryan, the 1440p and 1080p resolutions of Canopy Creek Winter Night 2 (among many others) appear to be cropped differently although they have the same aspect ratio. Did you mean for this to happen? |

I've downloaded the zip file for the Evo wallpapers but the size seems wrong. When I select the wallpaper area I'm unable to select the whole image as the width seems to fill up before the height. This is not a problem with extrasolar as it works fine. But with the others there's an unused "height" band of around 100 pixels. Maybe the res. is inverted? |
||
Ryan |
I'll see what I can do. Which browser you are using? |
||
E_man |
Hey Ryan, I just joined this site, so maybe there is a way to do this, but I couldn't find it. My internet speed is pretty slow, and I use the 4800x1200 wallpapers, so large files. I was wondering if there was a way you could implement opening an image for download in new tab? That way I could keep browsing while the picture is loading. I tried right click and ctrl+click, neither worked. |
||
Justin |
Thanks - Ill download them to my PC then to the droid - I have a membership just the browser on droid wouldnt let me download it :D |
||
kellzilla |
Droid backgrounds are members only because of their size, this is on purpose. If you cannot log into the site from your Droid, you'll have to download them to your computer and use a cable to upload them to your phone. |
||
Justin |
Hey Ryan I love your work and just got a Droid but I have been unable to download the backgrounds I want because they are member only. I tried the Steel Browser as someone else said that worked but I get the same issue - it errors out on download. is there a workaround you know of? |
||
Ali |
Hey Ryan, info on file size and number of wallpapers would be great. Btw, since you don't have a lot of 2560x1440 (16:9) renders, I downloaded the 2560x1600 (16:10) renders and batch-converted them to 2560x1440 for slideshows on my 16:9 TV, which doesn't give me that many options regarding tile/center/stretch etc. It turned out ok, the ratio change is barely noticeable and that's only in wallpapers with circular objects. It also seems that there are some 1920x1080 wallpapers (e.g. Song of the Sky..?) that do not have 2560x1440 renders (same aspect ratio). An idea would be to download and merge collections, but then there would be lots of duplicates. Are you thinking about offering zip files grouped by aspect ratio, such as "all 16:9s of different sizes" I'm suggesting this because I know it would be tedious to re-render all wallpapers to all resolutions possible. |

I had two links to "Pulsar" but they no longer exist so maybe those were fixed by the users themselves. I don't know what your policy for older work is but there are some users who have uploaded a lot of your gallery up to a couple years past. Like this one: http://picasaweb.google.com/anthraxter/DigitalBlasphemyHiResWallpapers# A search on the public gallery for "digital blasphemy" will give you some results. |
||
Ryan |
Well, I put up a public gallery of my images in the hopes that Google would notice them and add them to the mix. I'm not at all sure how to get in touch with them about making them available to others though. Any ideas? As for people uploading the Members-Only stuff to their Google accounts, I can only hope that people aren't making them publicly accessible. Walo, perhaps you could email me an example link or two? |
||
Walo |
I've noticed that some users are publicly uploading "members only" wallpapers. I've even seen multiple users that uploaded "Pulsar" there. I guess most of these are not aware that they are uploading the wallpapers with public access permissions to their gallery. |
||
DriveSafe |
Google has just started allowing images for the background when doing search. They also right this second are auto loading background images from artists. You should see to getting your Free stuff up there maybe. Be good publicity. |

I believe, unless there is some setting I've missed, that the N1 keeps wallpapers in portrait mode no matter the orientation. |
||
Ryan |
"Landscape" orientation is wider than tall, "Portrait" is taller than wide. The iPad can be viewed with either orientation and always keeps the image right-side-up when you turn it. My iPad wallpapers are square and parts of the image on the side or the top are cropped depending on how you are holding the device. |
||
John |
Awesome, thanks a bunch for the N1 resolutions. Unfortunately, being new to smartphones, I'm not quite sure what you mean by landscape-mode vs. auto-switch images. |
||
Ryan |
Thanks Jenny. I'm glad you both enjoy my work! Your husband is both right and wrong. It is a signature of sorts, but I never intended the person to be me (at least to others). You are the shadow man. |
||
Jenny |
Hi! My husband and I are huge fans of your work and your art sparked a curious question this evening. While looking at the website I mentioned to my husband that some pictures may be better without the random shawdow man. My husbands response was something that I had not considered. He suggested that the shadow figure may be you and is possibly a part of your "signature" on your artwork. So now I'm very curious and would love to hear if his idea holds any truth. Thanks for making our gadgets look amazing!! Thanks! George and Jenny Perret |

I've been using your "free" wallpapers for a couple of years and started to feel a bit guilty. As I am a code writer, I know what it takes to produce quality code that doesn't break, ad nausea. With that said, I just subscribed to your membership and WOW! You are an artist Sir. Thank-you for making your work available at a very respectful price. The "Mushrooms" are the wallpaper that "got" me. Please keep up the wonderful work. Goobr Central Florida, USA |

Right now I'm using an animated wallpaper that works only in portrait mode, but I haven't received the froyo update yet, so I can't say if the OS will auto-switch between portrait and landscape in 2.2. |

Hi Ryan. After 4 years of waiting, I've finally got my lifetime membership with your website. I live in South Africa and you best believe I am promoting your site... Got most of my friends viewing your site... Now to convert them to members... |
||
Ryan |
I plan on bringing back the user gallery after my new site is live. Need to iron out all of the bugs first though. |
||
Ryan |
I do have some 480 x 800 images up but they are "portrait" mode. Do most Nexus One users prefer landscape mode images or does the display auto-switch between them (a la the iPad)? |
||

Ryan, I too would like to see Nexus One wallpapers. Also, whatever happened to your plans to put up the User Gallery again? |

Ryan, when downloading the Dual 16:9 version (3840x1080), it seems as though the triscreen version comes up. Is this intended? I have downloaded this one before, and it looked quite different than the one in there now. |

I, for one, would definitely NOT want FB's updates mirrored here, since that's a lot of clutter. (Not to mention I'd have to see it twice, since I'm a fan of your FB group.) Your FB updates are casual and not always DB-oriented. When I'm viewing the DB website itself, I want DB news. Your Macbook heat woes don't factor in here at DB.com. I am interested in day to day stuff, but getting that from FB (or from your FB widget here on the site) is more than enough. |
||
Ryan |
Sorry about that Peter. That's a completely valid point, one that I hope to address when my new site goes live (hopefully soon). I tend to only post here when I have new artwork or a major announcement and save the minutiae for Facebook and Twitter status updates. Facebook is great for ripping off quick a sentence or two and it puts my post immediately in front of tens of thousands of people, whereas posting here I have to update my RSS feed, manually create a comment thread, and wait for people to see it. The feedback is much less immediate. Would you rather every Facebook status update mirrored here? I do have a Facebook box on this page where you can see what I've posted there without joining Facebook. Really though, prior to having a FB fan page I would go a couple of weeks between writing anything here because I waiting for a new render to finish. I do plan on posting more here once my new site goes live. Hopefully very soon! |
||
Peter |
Ryan, how come you send more time updating Facbook (of which I do not subscribe and have no intention of) rather than your actual site? Its 9 days since you last posted anything here. |
||
John |
Hey Ryan, is it possible for you to do a nexus one resolution for your wallpapers as well? |
||

I have been using your free wallpaper sample since 2003, and I finally got a membership. About time! Someday maybe I will get a lifetime membership. :) Your images are fantastic! I'm so happy that Windows 7 has the slideshow desktop so now I can show all of your amazing artwork. |
||
Justin |
I know you get this a lot, but I too would love to see more of your older works converted to 5760 * 1200. You are a great artist, and I am a lifetime member with an eyefinity setup that proudly displays all (except the holiday themed) of your 5760 * 1200 pieces. I regularly get comments like "Wow! That wallpaper is awesome!" then 30 minutes later when windows changes the background "Whoa, that one is even cooler, where did you get all these" "DigitalBlasphemy.com, this dude has the best wallpapers on the net" |

I remember that explanation, too, Ste, and I thought I could find it for you, but no go. The FAQ is at www.digitalblasphemy.com/faq, but in answer to that question it says "Please see my regular FAQ. This FAQ deals primarily with the Members Gallery." And the FAQ link there just returns you to the same Members Gallery FAQ page. I guess that's what you meant by the infinite loop. The regular FAQ must have gotten lost in the shuffle. Sorry, Ste. I wasn't much help. |
||
Mike |
admired the site for years, finally joined and as far as internet fun and intrigue goes, the best money I've ever spent. Amazing?, Beautiful? Awesome? What words can describe the work? |
||
Ste |
Hi Ryan, I was looking at the FAQ for the meaning of 'Digital Blasphemy' as I remember you had a really good explanation, however I kind of get into an infinite loop at the moment. Was attempting to reassure religious mother-in-law who loves your work! |
||
Gary |
Just signed up and I grabbed the single monitor images and the pickle jar images. How current are those? Just wondering how many images on the site are NOT in those. And how often are the zips updated with new images. Thanks and keep up the great work! |

Hi Ryan, Have you considered an updated Sakura wallpaper? I was able to see these beautiful trees up close when I visited Japan in Spring a year ago. They are breathtakingly beautiful in their full glory every season. While I love the 2006 version too (and it graces my desktop regularly), I'd love to see an updated version someday soon. Thanks for sharing your art and talent. I discovered you via a co-worker in Y2K and have been hooked ever since. :) |

Hi Ryan, have you given a thought to create an iphone app for digital blasphemy? I was trying to change my iphone wallpaper today but couldnt figure out a way other than downloading the wallpaper on my pc, syncing up the image and then selecting it as a wallpaper. |

When I bookmarked your "old" webpage, I was immediately asked to log in. It then directed me to the home page with your latest work and latest comments. Now, I can't log in with "one click" and when I do sign in, I'm sent to a page saying that your home page has moved with a link to the new page. Am I doing something wrong, or is this one of those glitches that will be fixed with your new website-in-development? |

Hi Ryan, The links to 480*800 resolution images (for mobile) all seem to point to images with resolution of 1480*800? I just got my hands on Nexus One which desperately needs to be DB'd! |
||
kellzilla |
Cool beans, I'll just wait for the new site to go through and rate old images instead of frustrating myself :D |
||
Ryan |
I want to hide it (and just show the rating) but my database has been acting wonky and not hiding some that should be hidden. I left it for another day (which hasn't arrived yet). I hope to have my new site up in the near future and that should take care of the problem. |
||
kellzilla |
Is there some way to hide the "rate this image" dropdown if you've already rated an image? I was going through some images and eventually gave up trying to rate them because I didn't know which ones I'd rated and which ones I hadn't, and it was extremely tedious to have to close popup after popup of the "Rate only once!" finger-shake. I'm only TRYING to rate once, but I have no other way to tell if I've rated an image or not. |

I love using Split Screen or Day & Night versions at my Desktops. It would be awesome if there would also be splitted Widescreen versions of your great artwork. Keep up the good work, I`m a fan since the 90ies of the last century :) |

The issue is not with the file it is with the Droid. Android has a bug which keeps it from saving files from password protected sites (like mine). The other mobile files aren't password protected so they download fine. |

I think you have the resolution for the droid wrong...I always get a unsuccessful d/l when I choose droid but works in the lower g1 resoilution and I have to resize everything. |

Thanks so much for helping my pay-it-forward program. I recently changed the algorithm to favor folks who's accounts were closer expiring on the hunch that they might have already set aside a few dollars for renewing (or at least thought about it) and me a bit more likely to pass on the goodwill. In this case I think it may have worked! |
||
Tracy |
I was procrastinating on my renewal but have just got an email saying it had been paid. I hadn't known about the pay-it-forward arrangements before this. What an excellent idea! I have now spent my renewal money on someone else. ;-) |
||
AJ |
First, love the site and your art - this is my second or third membership; considered doing a lifetime subscription, but I like supporting artists. Second, since you do renders for most of the mobile devices out there, I was curious if you'd ever heard of a company called Gelaskins. (http://www.gelaskins.com/index.php) they produce high quality vinyl appliques for most devices and laptops - I'd definitely buy one for my laptop if there was one available for "Singularity" or "Haiku." Ditto for my phone and PSP. |
||
Ryan |
I added that last evening Kellzilla. I'm glad you find it useful! The 1366 x 768 images should all be correct now. A little bug in my code that should now be squashed. Thanks for the heads up! |

How about an early springtime scene? |

When did you update the preview page links with a highlighted option for the resolution you're currently viewing at? That's incredibly handy! I have occasional brain farts on what size resolution I'm at (I have two computers with two res sizes, and I've gone through four monitors in the last year and a half...technology hates me!) Thank you for that! |
||
Trevor |
http://digitalblasphemy.com/preview.shtml?i=neuron 1366x768 link points to "Azure" not "Neuron" |
||
Joel |
Ryan, I was poking around with the random image link (love it!) and I noticed that a lot of older images had links to 1366 x 768 (16:9) versions but were actually all linked to azula1366.jpg. For instance check out http://digitalblasphemy.com/preview.shtml?i=atoll it has that bad link and also incorrect links in multi-screen. Also see http://digitalblasphemy.com/preview.shtml?i=holly the 1366 is wrong here but links to a different image. I'm sure you can straighten these issues out. |
||
Reuben |
Whatever happened to the status box that was on your site before you changed it, i really liked that, knowing what things you are into and what's currently happening. |
||
Mike |
Hi Ryan, I have been checking out your site for a long time but never joined until just recently and I love having all of your amazing wallpapers, especially since I got Windows 7 which has a setting to have your desktop background change as often as you want. Your wallpapers make my desktop have new Dimensions. Keep up the good work! |
||
Ryan |
Sounds good to me Yeoman. Could you also include my URL in the magazine somewhere? Thanks! |
||
Yeoman |
G'day Ryan, I would like to use one of your images on the front cover of a local printed magazine that I edit, for retired persons (I am one of those). Total circulation is maximum 350. I would like to ask your permission to use your copyright material; which will include your watermark for attribution. |
||
Bryan |
Don't know about other folks, but I run my monitors in portrait mode. (1200x1920 currently) I'm running 2 of these side-by-side (Mac) so it would be cool to put an image across them. Just one portrait resolution would be fine as they get scaled pretty well by the OS. I realize that you don't render them with portrait in mind, so I understand if it's not practical to do. The last thing I want is to add another long step in your process! Thanks! |
||
AP |
How about 1863 x 299 for those of us with a larger monitor, with some dead pixels on the left side, and most of the bottom is taken up by a taskbar? I think NOKIA announced an upcoming flip phone with this resolution too so I know its not just me. Kthxbye! |
||
D Wodtke |
Just a suggestion given the popularity of the new Nexus One phone from Google. You may want to consider adding it to the list of phones on the 480x800 resolution along side the TP2 and Nokia |

I just read your post from Yesterday, cut me some slack, I just got home with my second child on Monday, and with a 2½ year and a new born, its taken me a few days to get back to the computer. But anyways, I see you did add 5760 x 1200's!!! Awesome Ryan, Thanks a ton!! You are the best! |
||
RSA |
Been having to re-size all the wallpapers in Corel PhotoPaint (Using Corel is my choice, keep your comments to yourself everyone) At work everything is happy as I only have triple 1600 x 1200's so that works as your do offer 4800 x 1200 downloads. Please, as someone who has "spread the cheer" a few times on a lifetime membership, consider adding another resolution to your already pretty large selection. Thanks for all you do Ryan! |
||
Jenanne |
Hi Ryan: I know I commented earlier on the failings of the Picklejar list, on how it would be nice to have a better listing. I didn't mean you should do away with it altogether! Before, there was a Pickjar listing in the gallery drop-down list, but both the "gallery" and the Pickjar listing -- the list of all the Pickjar renders -- are gone. Even in its original form it was better than no list at all. One of the reasons I like that list is that renders (used to) exist there that could be found nowhere else, not even in the render's own Picklejar. I'm begging you, pleease bring it back! |
||
Ryan |
I added 1280 x 800 to the download options a few days ago Walo. I was checking my logs and saw that it was the most used resolution of all do I had to add it ;) |
||
Walo |
This resolution is the standard on almost every 15 inch notebook. But some use either 1366x768 or 1920x1200. |
||
Brian |
Hello Ryan, Glad you asked. Please add my vote to "modernize" the resolution on some of the oldies but goldies. My personal fav: Dome of the Blue Seeress Thanks! |

Hi Ryan I really love some of your older images but can you also please upload 1680x1050 resolutions of them especially the ones below: Something Blue Creation Frio Smidgeons Starbirth Louts2 DragonFlight Guardian & Guardian-Original These all are (IMHO) beautiful examples of your work but there are no wide-screen versions so please do update/upload with the higher resolutions. Much appreciated & Many Thanks !! Cheers, |
||
drow |
i always download the largest version (2560 x 1600, here) and let my system scale it as needed. between several systems with different resolutions, and periodic upgrades to those systems, its not worth the time to track down or manually rescale things. |
||
Andrew |
I use 1680x1050 and 1920x1200, which you already provide. I had a question, however (and I apologize if this has been asked before). A lot of your older artwork is only available at lower resolutions. Any chance you would ever go back and render higher resolution versions? Thanks! |
||
Coleman |
I don't know how common this is but I'm running at 2048 x 768. It is really two monitors at 1024 x 768 but I extended the desktop to the second monitor so they share the wallpaper. I have been using photoshop to re-size the 2560 x 1024 files so they would fit. Ask everyone and see if 2048 x 768 is popular enough to add to your render sizes. Thanks! Hope you are feeling better. |
||

I'm relatively new to DB and have been wading through all the images. While wallowing in this visual smorgasbord I've noticed a few dragons, and being the dragon fan-boy that I am wondered if that style was something you had any interest in returning to. |

I have dual 16:10 monitors (not same size) so I just use the dual widescreen option, which seems to work pretty well. My main screen is 1680*1050 so I loved it when you added that to your main res list, rather than having to download the 1920*1200 ones all the time. Thanks |
||

I'm running at 1920x1080 (16:9), which is my own fault. Still, I'd like to see walls like Shambhala, Summerwood, and Autumn Shrine (for example) in that resolution, since I'm stuck with this monitor for the next couple of years. ;D Thank you kindly! |
||
KRingg |
I have the same resolution you do (dual full-hd monitors) and have found that using the dual-widescreen renders set to actual aspect ratio (center or tile) works really well. You're really only losing 120 pixels split across the top & bottom (60 px from each). Also, for anyone with slightly strange monitor resolutions, DisplayFusion is an excellent Windows tool that'll give you a lot of great options for resizing / centering / manipulating your desktop images. You can find it at the below link... you have to pay for the full version but it's TOTALLY worth it. I've used lots of other similar tools, but this one is the best I've found, hands-down. http://www.binaryfortress.com/displayfusion/ |

I know it's a bit oddball, but it's what I've got... |
||
Ryan |
It is a bit of a time sink, but I think it comes with running a wallpaper site. I use Photoshop actions do to most of the work so it goes pretty quickly, but there are times when the preset actions create unacceptable results and I have to do it manually. I don't think there will ever be an automatic solution that will fit all screens. |
||
Michael |
There must be some way to free you from creating a whole slew of different resolutions. I'm thinking something could be done, maybe something like allowing members to specify their own cropping/scaling of a larger source image and then apply the watermark after the manip. I wonder if something like this could be done with imagemagick and flash or some other web technology. I've got to imagine generating all these resolutions is a big time sink after you create the images. |

The Hero has 7 home panels (the Droid has 3), bringing the resolution to 480X2240 (the wallpaper shifts with each panel change) Many thanks if you build this resolution, no problems if you don't ^_^ |

I would love to see a triple screen resolution in between 3800 and 7600. I run three screens at 1920x1200 for a 5760x1200 composite but there really isn't anything close to it. Thanks! |

Dell is coming out with a new 2560 x 1440 panel so it won't just be Mac users any more. I will get on cropping as many of my 2560 x 1600s as I can. Thanks for reminding me! |

It would be nice to see more hi-res (2560x1440) 16:9 crops of your wallpapers from the last three years or so. I would crop my own except that the DB signature is ruined that way. I realize I'm probably speaking for a vast minority of iMac fans... |

When I saw Avatar, I thought it was inspired by your work, Ryan. Specifically, it invoked thoughts of Tropical Moon (2007) and Tropical Moon of Thetis. I would actually not be surprised at all, if some of the people working on that movie had seen either of these pieces and liked the idea so borrowed some inspiration. |

Ryan, I would love to see a 3840x1080 dual wide-screen resolution! That would save me from having to resize all your images in Photoshop. Thanks! |

I live in Canada, and was hoping that you might set up something with the major cell phone companies here to be able to download your wallpapers as you have for the US (such as Fido, Rogers and Telus). Don't know of that's doable, but I would really appreciate it. :) |

I think a lot of people would like some Pandora on their desktops. I will see is I can put something together that evokes "Avatar" without being a ripoff... |

So, about a month ago I saw the movie Avatar. I could only think of your fluorescent mushrooms drawing when seeing the forest in the movie. If you've seen it, I think some more drawings of that nature would be really cool coming from you, your own touch on it, of course. |

Hi Ryan, Excellent work on the new site structure; a definite improvement. I just had a comment about the mobile resolution that you've got listed as 'Touch 2/Nokia N900'. The N900 is a landscape device and users never see the background when it's in portrait mode. Could you therefore separate the N900 images out to be 800x480 landscape rather than 480x800 portrait please. If you're feeling particularly kind then a multi-screen version for the n900's four scrollable desktops would be great too. Either as a single 3200x480 image or a bundle of four 800x480 images. Cheers and keep up the great work b0bb1ns |

You could post it here. Thanks! |

Is there a comment thread for folks to discuss things they'd like to see? |

Just renewed 7 days early and had to log in a total of four times. Once to get to the renewal page. Again to check my account as suggested to confirm the renewal went ok Again to log in to the site Again when going to the wallpaper page. Seems a little much Now a suggestion - when browsing you have to select the wallpaper AND the resolution every time. I have an iMac, it's 1680 by 1050 so clearly I want that resolution every time so why not have a cookie to retain that information? (Don't tell anyone but I usually forget what my resolution is and have to check every time) |

Thanks Kaz. They should all link to the right files now. Not sure why you would have to log in more than once, unless you are viewing images on my secure server. I will look into it though. I appreciate the feedback!! |

Hey Ryan I noticed that when using the "Wallpapers" fly-out menu to navigate to widescreens, and then using the dropdown to select a resultion from available downloads, all of them return "Simple". I only checked a few, but the result was consistent. It does get the proper resolution of Simple at least =) Also, sometime in the last couple site tweaks, I am getting a second log in request when selecting a resolution to view. Don't know if that is by design or not, but worth mentioning, since I can't save my password here at work, so I have to type it in every time the login comes up. Thanks! Kaz |

Happy birthday, Jessica! And thank you -- we appreciate all you do to make it possible for Ryan to produce his artwork. I hope your day is extra special! |

I'm curious as to how I'm going to utilize your wallpapers on the iPad when mine comes in. Would you consider adding a 1024 X 768 resolution for the iPad? Also, what happens to a background on the iPad when you switch from Landscape to Portrait? I don't recall seeing the desktop switch orientations during the demo. I'll watch the rest of the presentation with that in mind. |

This general comments section is great. I didn't know how else to bring this up before now. I'm finding the login process pretty inconvenient. On your old site, it asked for your login credentials right away, and you could access anything you wanted with no further problems. Now it's rather strange. I'll come to the site, and sometimes the page will have ads and sometimes it won't. Sometimes I have to login multiple times. Today, for instance, I had to login to view the dualscreen version of Corona, and then login again two minutes later to leave feedback. I think it ought to remember me. I would much prefer something similar to the old site, where it asks up front if you're a member, and then allows you access to everything. I've also tried clicking the "login" link to login (when the page showed ads), but it still asked me to login again to view one of the pictures. Can anything be done about this? |

Mark has been given carte blanche to post as many as he wants to so keep checking back from time to time. The more people use them the more visible they will be in the Persona gallery so I hope everyone who enjoys my work (and uses Firefox) will find one that works for them! I'm currently working with another Member on putting together a Chrome Theme. Stay tuned! |

When I learned you now have Firefox Personas, I ran-click to the site and installed asap. Thank you Mark Hamilton for volunteering to convert Ryan's work to Firefox Personas. |

I preferred it the way I had it too. Unfortuantely I couldn't keep it that way because the new site doesn't track your username unless you are accessing the files themselves. I've recently implemented a cookie (for disabling the ads for Members) so I might be able to use that to selectively display the ratings box to Members only. |

Also, I think it skews the ratings for people to be able to see how others have rated a render before they vote. In the past, one of the (many) reasons I voted was to see how closely my opinion matched others. Now, how other people have voted influences my vote. Better the way it was, IMHO. |

Thanks, Ryan, for this general comments section! It will be a great place for comments that don't belong with a particular render, like this one: It would be nice to have a better listing of your picklejar work. I know there's a list in the gallery drop-down, but all we see are tiny manilla-like folders and abbreviated titles. No thumbnails at all, unlike the other gallery listings. |

Amazing work! I love the dual-widescreen selections, they are flawless. Have you ever done any work themed around an alien spacecraft? |
||
Ryan |
If a project has Pickle Jar versions there will be a link at the very bottom of the download dropdown menu. |

G'day Ryan. Apart from your recent inclusion of the original Muspelheim in a Pickle Jar entry alongside the current version, I cannot find any other Pickle Jar versions of your other earlier work. Where do we find it now? |
