"Last Coupon Code" | |||
| Amaryllis |
Like Foz who wrote below, I have chosen to be a yearly member. It's because I like thinking that my small contribution supports an artist. I also live in the UK, where things are prohibitively expensive compared to the US, and frankly, the year membership price for DB ($25)is the same as a meal and a drink at one of my local pubs. $15 is two cups of coffee and a shared slice of cake for myself and a friend at my local cafe. I appreciate the options, because I have been absolutely broke and unemployed and trying to get by as a writer, yet I feel able to get enough together to keep my membership going when it expires. When I'm richer (!), I'll 'pay it forward' so that others can enjoy the art. Ending the coupon offers is a fine, acceptable idea. I'd advise anyone who hasn't subscribed to put a bit away every month and then eventually, without a coupon, give yourself a fantastic gift which you can enjoy 365 days of the year. |

After using the free members gallery for a couple years, I finally bought my lifetime over a year ago and have continued to be thrilled!!! I would also like to tell you I am truly sorry for the loss of your father. |

Thanks! One correction though: The renewal price per year is only $15. Really though, I just want to have enough options so that it's affordable to everyone I can continue making artwork as long as possible. |

Let's do some very basic math... You can pay $25 per year and get all of Ryan's work. However, come four years, you'll have paid $100 (assuming yearly prices don't go up in that four year span). You can pay $45 for three years, then buy one year at $25 for a total of $70 (cheaper than four one-year renewals). That'll save you some money over the course of the four years. Or...you can just pay $99, become a lifetime member, save yourself the hassle of renewal and enjoy DB for years go come! Having gone from "free" member straight to Lifetime...it's one of the best purchases that I've ever made concerning computers. It doesn't crash, get deleted, get discontinued, deprecate, become obsolete, or anything that my other computer purchases do! Keep up the great work Ryan, and great idea on the "last sale!" |

Lifetime membership is the best route, the memberships are definitely not overpriced. I have all the wallpapers on my computer, and I add the new ones as soon as they are posted online :) Keep up the good work! |

I'd have to agree - the quantity and quality that we have been receiving is hands down worth a membership (even without a discount!). My only regret is not signing up for a lifetime membership sooner! :) Keep up the great work - its truly appreciated on my end. I love seeing new emails from you in my inbox...I can't wait to check out the latest and greatest. I'm also a huge fan of the Pickle Jar...keep that coming! |

i've been following your work, and have essentially had your wallpapers as my desktops, since 2000. money has always been tight, but i've been considering membership for years now. when i checked in tonite and saw the sale, i took it as a sign that it was time to get a membership. i also really like the pay it forward option and hope to use it as my finances improve. the images here always floor me and i really should have joined ages ago. thank you for providing a much-needed sense of awe and wonder. |

I took the plunge and upgraded to a Lifetime Membership. :) For what it's worth, I wasn't "waiting for the next special" but rather waiting for an income. In 2011 I bought a year's membership with money I was given as a gift in lieu of an Easter egg! My job is in the voluntary sector and I don't have a profit income, but I'm not going to get any richer any time soon, and Ryan, you're worth it. :) The whole concept of this home business makes me happy. Maybe sometime in the future I'll afford to offset what the Last Sale code saved me by paying it forward for someone else. |

Thanks so much! When you purchase a "gift renewal" my system chooses a Member at random and extends their Membership by a year. Hopefully then that person uses the funds they would have spent on their own renewal and "pays-it-forward" by purchasing one for someone else. Stranger things have happened... Thanks again for supporting my work!! |

Ryan, I have been following your work since i was in college in the late 90's. When i could finally afford to become a member I did, and then eventually became a lifetime member. I was looking where i could make an extra donation and found the pay it forward link, what an awesome idea! I'm not sure how it works but whoever gets it, i hope they enjoy DB as much as i have over the years! |

I meant "I finally took the plunge this year for the LIFETIME." in the message below. Sorry! |

I sent you a tongue-in-cheek email when I purchased my lifetime membership... If anyone is considering this, just do it. DB wallpapers have been my exclusive wallpapers on every PC and device I've owned since 1998 or 1999. After buying annual memberships every year since you started memberships, I finally took the plunge this year for the annual. It would have paid off long ago if I purchased it back then. Your work is worth well more than you charge for membership. If anyone is considering this option -- it's worth it (in my opinion). Thanks for all the years of wallpapering my PCs, Mac, and more mobile phones than I can remember! |

Dude, I have been following your work since the beginning, while I have only recently been a member to your site. Yours is one of the few remaining values left in cyberville. Most everyone else has gone ala carte and doesn't even come close to the professionalism and value that you provide. Thank you for providing the BEST wallpaper site on the net. |

I have to admit, I prefer it when you aren't doing a sale - for what you offer, and at such a cheap price to begin with, I can't help but think you deserve the full whack. It's why I haven't payed out for a renewal at a discount, and it's why I haven't payed for a "lifetime". I want to see more and more of what you produce - so I'll keep renewing, at full price. |
||

Thank you! Yes, I don't "auto-renew" people so folks have to opt-in to remain a Member. This leads to more than a few unintentional expirations but I would rather have those happen then unintentional renewals. The "iamback" coupon is so folks are not penalized for letting their membership lapse. |

Ryan, I think this is proper and fair. Your work is worth the nominal regular price you charge and, after all, you need to make a living and support your family. I'm assuming the "iamback" is for people who quit and then decide to return? Anyway, I'll continue to support your work and I hope the rest of your members will, too. |
