Wow, stay out of touch for a little while and look what happens. I sincerely hope you recover and heal quickly, and that your discomfort disappears even faster. Your work is nothing short of amazing, and I'm (selfishly) glad you aren't out of the game permanently! "Get Well Soon!" It's not just cliche', it's meant! |

Hi Ryan!!! Blessings to you and your family at the turn of the year. I was sorry to hear that you were having health issues - that's never fun no matter when it happens. Here's hoping that you're back to feeling better soon. And don't worry about us, your fans - we'll be here for you no matter how long your recovery takes. |

Of course when it happens To You, it's a whole different thing than if it's just happening to someone somewhere else. We're more than willing to wait for the next Brilliant Piece you come up with if it means you're healthy enough to work on it. Being your own boss is always tough because the boss always thinks you're slacking off when you take time for yourself, even when you're due the vacation/sick/down time. Tell the boss that Sanity Maintenance is at least as important as Website Maintenance. And maintaining Your Health is most important, because it truly is the basis of everything else. Prayers go with you! |

Sometimes life is not fair. Can you see? Can you hear? Can you talk and write? How about taste your food and breathe fresh air? How much are your senses worth to you 3-4 million? Are you surrounded by loved ones? You are doing great, just had a minor set back that will be forgotten and looked back on later. I will tell you what I told my 11 and 12 year olds last month when I lost a dear friend to a massive heart attack at 35, sometimes bad things happen to good people. In life you will have problems, it is how you handle them. Keep your chin up and be thankful that you are alive. My buddy went out to warm his wifes car up for her and he never came back in. Died in her car in 10 seconds. Gone. No goodbye. Nothing. Gone. Pick up a newspaper and read that crap and then turn on the news and listen to that crap. Then look in the mirror and tell yourself how great you are! PS. Love your stuff! |

Hey man sorry to hear that your not well this xmas but you shouldn't worry about us not getting a new picture,just worry about getting yourself well again. Thanks for all the cool pics that you've made so far and i wish you a well and happy new year from England. Best of luck dude ;) |

As for the christmas artwork: don't worry! I'm sure everyone in here is very happy with what you've created for us this far, and understands and accepts that you weren't able to create a (new) christmas image! I think many (including me!) are currently enjoying your epic At World's Edge, and those who wanted something specifically "christmas" - could have chosen from the nice collection of artwork of previous years (I like "The Ride" and "Season of Light")! I hope you can still enjoy this final day of the year and hopefully have your family and perhaps other people you love / love you around you. And if anything you have a warm group of people here - hidden behind these comments - that think of you and are also in one way or another with you ;) Hope you get well soon - and hopefully next year holds some more "stability" in your health for you. Happy new year! Marvin S. (The Netherlands, Europe) |

Ryan, The last thing you need to worry about is work, concentrate on getting well!! {rah-rah} I've been dealing 'medical' issues for the last year and a half (it seems like forever). Everytime I think I'm about done, something else pops up. Somedays can be overwhelming, try to keep focused on other things. I have surgery scheduled the 1st week of February, it won't be fun but it's better than facing the consequences of 'not' having it. {/rah-rah} On a different note... I'm really enjoying the winter version of "World's Edge". I think this is one of my all-time favorites. I'll be waiting for you to out-do yourself. Take care. Peace. bluzkat |

Ryan, My hope is this Doctor is a better detective than the last one. It has been my experience (almost 60) that a lot of MDs are empirical in nature. They try something to see if it works. If not, they try something else. In the past I have felt like a lab rat. Most also are traditionally taught to use surgery and pharmacuticals to find a cure. They are taught virtually nothing about natural food remedies as in Integrative Medicine. The good news is you are young and your auto-immune system is probably not too screwed up yet. An on line Doc that helped me a lot is Mark Hyman, M.D. at www.ultrawellness.com (This is his blog site.) I read his book UltraMetabolism to lose weight and came away learning how to use food and exercise to boost my auto-immune system. In addition to losing about 80 pounds I feel thirty years younger. I hope this helps. God bless you , Ryan. You bring a lot of joy to so many of us. Get well soon. Tay in Plano |

Hi Ryan, Sorry to hear that everything is still ongoing, but I hope everything goes alright and you begin to feel better. With the number of people on the site you are wishing you well, I don't see how you couldn't! Best wishes, jonathan |

Never mind soon. Get well properly so that the wellness lasts. Your son is just a little younger than my kids, and I know you want a long, happy life to watch him grow. Like another said earlier - we'll be here when you're good and well. |

After reading that you are not well, I think how lucky the rest of us are at this time of year! My thoughts are with you and I hope you get much better soon! Good luck with the recovery and take your time! |

I don't comment usually here on DB, but I'm in your shoes too with a personal problem and some painful operations coming up too. Hope it all works out for you and you come through just great - worry not about the lack of creative inspiration, once you've detoxed I'm sure you'll be on top form again! |

Waiting to heal, waiting to be functional, waiting for the freedom to create. I imagine that is the worst part for you, aside from the obvious. Be good to yourself. Give yourself time. Don't worry about us. We will all still be here. I hope you heal fast, and your mind clears quickly. I also hope you and your family had a good Christmas, and my best wishes to you and them in the New Year. |

Don't push, take care of yourself, everyone will still be here waiting for you. |

I hope you get well soon and I wish the best for you and your family! I know you want to get back to creating more masterpieces [ :) ], but it’s important you take the time to get well. We will still be here, eagerly awaiting your return! God’s Speed! -Steve |

Ryan, Good luck in getting back to health in the near future. Your work is wonderful and I am relieved to hear that, eventually, you will return to creating more beautiful backgrounds. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Karyn McSkimming |

I hope you had a good holiday and are well enough to look forward for the new year. Hopefully you'll see after all theses posts, (190 or so on the last count) that people care about your health over anything else. Hopefully you won't even be near the computer to read these until your 100% better... sooo... I'm glad your feeling better! (Assuming the previous is true!) Thanks for all you've done so far and we look forward to everything you have to offer in the future!!! |

Ryan, you take it easy and get well soon. I think most of your loyal fans understand. You have certainly earned some recovery time! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful work. Season's greeting and blessings to you and your beautiful family. |

No problem! Take care of yourself. Your health definitely comes first. Happy New Year! |

Karen |
I hope everything works out this time around with the procedures. I know first and second hand how hard it can be to recover from *any* type of surgery. The important thing is you take the time to recover properly and fully. Seeing as the last procedure didn't work, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts that this next one will take care of the problem. :) |
||

Ryan, You have a devoted following. Your number one priority is to get yourself feeling better. It is amazing how these little things that folks take for granted in their daily lives can become horrible monsters that take on a life of their own! I look forward to seeing your newest creations once you feel better... I am a lifetime member and look forward to many more years! |

Ryan, Please take all the time you need to recuperate. I've been a member for quite some time and plan on being one for life. Our prayers are with you during this trying time and we wish you all the best! Take care and get well, Chris |

Checking our your site today I am sad and sorry to hear that your medical problems are still causing you grief and worry (and pain). I can hear the concern in your words about being away from work too long...... And then I read almost all 186 comments left on this site by your devoted fans and followers.... I think it is very safe to say that you have a very loyal customer base and that should ease some of the concerns you have about taking the time to heal!! We are not going anywhere and we want you back happy and healthy!! Take all the time you need....I'm a member for life! God Bless... H |

I hope you recover from all of your problems. I have had serious injuries in the past that I thought would ruin my life. I later learned that that pain, horror, & self destructive environment of my own mind transposed to a new awakening of life as it really is as opposed to what I thought it was before I (and my ego)were lavishing in a make believe world. That's me, not you, but I do hope you come out of your pain with a new enlightenment. I understand some of your emotion I hope. |

I am sorry to hear of your medical struggles. My best wishes and prayers are with you and your family for coming through this. It's OK to feel down but remember how many people love you, and you'll be just fine. Please remember to take the time you need to heal--you deserve it. I have enjoyed your artwork for a long time now, as have my family members and co-workers who see the images on my computers everywhere. You are wonderfully gifted and have shared so much with us. We will all be here for you when you return, and in the mean time, we can enjoy all of the images you've given us over time. |

Dear Ryan, You are in my thoughts and prayers as you deal with this medical issue. Please know I wish the best for you and hope you come out swinging! Allow yourself time to be 'down in the dumps;' we all need that from time to time. Believe me, I can empathize with you - I am diagnosed with a permanent medical condition, and now I lost my job in August '08. I'm still unemployed. Anyway, if you find yourself down, always remember you have very good company there, and we all need to support one another as possible. With warmest regards to you and yours, Nicole |

I've had a couple done around the silly season (Day after Christmas). That one was a tumor that was located at the back of my skull, and was quite large. I spent 2 days in the Hororpistal (Hospital) that were the worst in my life. Good luck on your coming surgery, and I hope they do things right this time. Remember that doctors are "practicing" medicine. So the never really understand everything or in anything in some cases. :) Best wishes, keep your chin up. :) HellRaiser - I go by Overtkill these days. :) -Joseph P. |

Ryan, I can't even number the people who have stopped at my computer and commented on the beautiful wallpaper you've created. You've given so much to all of us, believe me when I say we're all wishing you a full recovery. As so many others have already mentioned, we're not going anywhere -- when you're ready, we'll be ready. My holiday wish for your family is one of peace and health and joy -- |

I know that having medical issues can really put you into a dark place emotionally. Let me just say that while I understand that you are down in the dumps, you have no idea the joy have given already. The Christmas pictures that you have in this site has already lifted so many spirits including mine. I have one for my background at work and another for my background at home. Thank you for all that you have done and for all that you do. Please feel better and come back to us whole. Sincerely, AidaHV |

I've just had hardware removed (pins in two finger-bones, pulled out with pliers). I have hardware remaining (titanium plate and many screws). All in the hands. I've been doing Occupational Therapy. A lot. Just remember: time heals it all. Give your body enough time, and it will heal almost anything. |

I know it can be tough to have a cheery attitude when you are in pain. Take the time to distract yourself when you can by spending it with your family and close friends. Let them help you keep your positive energy up. Tell them, if you need to, that you need to receive the very best of their energy, time, and loving care, to help you have a happy holiday season. Know this, that I and many many others who love your work also care about you and send you our energy of love, caring, and best wishes for a successful recovery. Take care. |

As someone who has been subscribing for a few years now, I want to let you know that my prayers are with you for healing. You've wowed me and others who chance upon my computer when I have your wallpaper up. You have a rare talent, but your health and happiness are always more important than what art you put out. I'd look to this experience as a trial that you'll come through, and see whether taking time to take care of yourself results in some new inspiration. There are so many things to inspire, from the good to the bad. Taking some of the strife you have had and those days where you are feeling better may lead you to some new inspiration. Store up and write down the ideas for when you feel up to creating some new and inspiring art. Your neon mushrooms and holiday screens are among my favorites. Your seasonal pictures and planetscapes where one can feel the awe of the change of seasons, or of a beautiful sci-fi inspired sky are also great! Use this time to relax and reflect. I'm sure that once you feel better you'll put down some cool new images. Don't overpromise or over worry. We'll be here when you get back. :-) |

Being someone chronically ill myself, you are in my thoughts. Never apologize for having to take time to heal. Do what you must and get better. Your art has been a bright spot in my life for a very long time, and when you are better I have no doubt it will be again. However, it should be on *your* timer and nobody else. Get better and keep your spirits up, as I know that is *not* easy, and know that I am burning a candle for you. Jaz |

I am sososo sorry to hear about this Ryan! I had surgery myself this summer, and from that I had a 8 week recovery time, during which I had so much trouble living a normal life. I couldnt walk for the first two weeks. What I learned from this experience was, after a surgery nothing should matter except your own health, your own recovery, yourself. It is a time to be selfish. It is a time to say no. It is a time to focus on YOU. I don't mind waiting 3 months or more for another image from you for this reason. I hope you will take the time you need to recover, don't hurry back! I have been here with you since the beginning almost, and I have lots of wallpapers that I can use while you recover. Don't rush! Just get better! I will keep you in my thoughts, and am wishing you a recovery which is as painfree as possible. |

Hi Ryan, Yes, that's right...all healings are gifts from God. I'm believing, not hoping for your recovery; we believe for what's available to us right now, but hope for those things that aren't. To repeat what tons (literal and figurative) of DB fans have said, don't even worry about the site. You've already put out 27 very far-out images this year, even though the numbers aren't what we go by. We're certainly not worried about getting our "money's worth". Rest, heal, and have a peaceful holiday. You're in our prayers. Mangoman |
||
Darla |
Ryan, I'm glad to hear that the problem is not life threatening. It's not unusual at all to be down after a surgical procedure. Remember the pain pills are CNS (Central Nervous System) sedatives which can add to the down feeling. Speaking for myself, I'd rather you are well and happy regardless of your business. I can wait. I'm sure everyone else can too. You and your family are in my prayers. Get well soon. |
||
Ben |
I started subscribing back in 2000, and I won't be stopping any time soon. Take your time Ryan, we'll all be here for you when you get back to feeling up to creating your magic again. Wishing you a speedy recovery, and an as-comfortable-as-possible holiday. I'm still enjoying At World's Edge (Winter) and Song of the Sky (Yuletide) on my systems. Ben Colorado Springs |
||
Dennis |
So... you're a cyborg now? Artifical parts? Making the painful transition from fully human to part machine? I'm just tossing ideas out... Something might make an interesting picture at the right time. Take the time you need to heal. I think from all these posts your fans are behind you. Good art is worth waiting for, and pain is no fun. From my family to yours, and also to everyone posting here, Happy Holidays! |

Be well Ryan. I’ve just returned to your site after a few years and am sad to hear of your troubles. You are in my prayers and I hope all will be well for you. Both are several orders of magnitude more important than any of your members (or the freebie visitors) getting a new piece of art. You need to do all that you can do to get well, be well, and have happiness in your family. Once you're there, when you feel up to it, I (and I assume many others) look forward to your next piece of art. I bid you a Merry Christmas and happiness in the new year! |

I wish you great haste in your recovery and anything that needs to be done to make your quality of life equivilant to the quality of your work takes priority. Happy holidays! |

I have just become a member! I have used your pictures on my desktop before, but it is great to be a part of the group. Also, the money is nothing compared to the beauty your site gives to everyone. I am not technical at all but I can still enjoy what you do. I hope you recover soon. Maybe the knowledge that so many people are touched by what you do will bring a little Christmas cheer into your life. You have certainly done that for me! Happy holidays. |

Sorry to hear about your predicament. Fortunately as you said it won't have any long term effects on your quality of life. I sincerely hope the best for you and your health. Don't let it get you down too much. Christmas is suppose to be about happiness. So I wish you happy holidays and good cheer. |

Just concentrate on getting better soon. Your family needs more than we do. :) Not to say that we don't need your awesome artwork because we do. :) Take care. You are in my prayers. |

Ryan, Please take the time to relax. As a person that went through a back operation 4 years ago it was the first couple weeks from the hospital that were the hardest (went from a hectic schedule to nothing). Please for all our sakes don't come back to work until you are ready. When you think you are ready wait a week more. We will all be here ready and waiting for your master pieces when you are better. Get well soon and enjoy you family for the holidays. |
||
Xliff |
I don't think you'll have to worry about us, Ryan. Worry about yourself, first. And to be honest, you've already done a brilliant and suitable holiday piece in your "Song of the Sky (yuletide)". I'll have you know that it's currently my desktop background on my work machine, and it's already gotten several interesting comments from my co-workers. So rest up. Heal up. I hope the next operation goes as well or better than expected. Take care, and Happy Holidays. |
||
Marc |
You're in my prayers, friend. Your work is amazing. God's got your back. Take care. -Marc |
||
Dan |
...from all these comments that not a single person minds in anyway that you need to take time out to recover! I had an op over 18 months ago on one of my lungs after an ongoing problem and I'm only now just at the end of my recovery. Take it easy, have some rest, and get back to work only when you feel you should. |
||
Chris |
Chill during the holidays and get better. Your work over the years has brought me so much happiness that I can't even put it into words. No need to stress about putting together another piece! |
||
Jim |
Having learned from recent personal experience, all I can offer is that when you think you are ready to get back in front of the computer, take one more week. Having had two recent hospital stays myself, I've pushed a little too hard to get back into the routine of daily life and seen my recovery slow enough to frustrate me. Your health is the most important thing. The pixels will still be there for you to push around when you are better. Happy Holidays. |
||

Ryan, Take as much time as you need to recover properly. Rushing recovery after surgery usually results in incomplete recovery. We want you back to 100%, so take your time. Merry Christmas! Allen |
||
Andi |
Take as much time as you need, man, and get better. I look forward to seeing more artwork when you feel up to it! |
||
RoYaLe |
I left the first post, but after reading a few of what others have been saying i just wanted to add one more thing. Be careful with the pain meds... i had to learn the hard way that they "may be habit forming".. and that ends up being worse than the surgery, rehabilitation/excercise, etc. |
||
Mike Roger |
Ryan, Just stumbled onto your work through a facebook ad, and was saddened to see the first post about the operation as the first thing I saw... ...however, from a guy who once had a severed spinal column, vertebrae turned to dust and replaced by titanium... having some permanent metal isn't the worst thing in the world, and there is always setting off metal detectors at the airport with a cocky smile to look forward to! There is always a bright side to find! I look forward to new work, and all the best for a speedy recovery! Mike in Shanghai |

I've been enjoying the free gallery for a long time until a couple months ago when I finally decided to buy a membership. I'm glad I did. I really enjoy your work. I'm sorry to hear you're having "issues." You'll be in my thoughts and I hope you can get back to doing what you enjoy soon. Alex Wollangk |

Hang in there. Hope to hear from you soon. God Bless. Kris |

Ryan, don't worry about getting any work done right now. Rest, try to relax, and let yourself heal. Depression is normal in your situation, and should lift when you are feeling better and are back to your creative genius work. |

Poor you. Hope you get back to your usual self as soon as... |

Ryan I think I know what you are going through. I have been offered surgery and many other options. But have had too many opinions for many years and now am left on my own. I am in constant pain. Your beautiful and inspiring art work is a blessing for me. I am so happy to hear you will get well. Take all the time you need to recover. We all are thinking about you. You are quite special! |
||
JohnCee53 |
Ryan, take this time out to let your body heal. As you rest, sleep, and dream, I'm sure you will have some great ideas that come in to your mind. Let them develop as you take the time out. Then, when you finally can get back to us, you will be able to dazzle us with the flood of new artwork you will be just bursting to get out! We can wait, believe me! You will be in our thoughts and prayers. I'm a cancer survivor, and I know how precious each and every day is. Use your time to heal, so we can have you back when you are ready and ABLE, and not before! The Old Curmudgeon |

Wishing you a speedy recovery !! And in any case, have a merry Xmas and happy new year. Surgery is not a good thing, it's just necessary to , sometimes, survive (i wish i had not to have to go that way too). And again, splendid work for "At World's Edge (Winter)", this is as a window opening on fairy land ;-). Cross finger |
||

I know how it feels to have multiple surgeries, and I wish you a speedy recovery. I found that lots of Law & Order re-runs and really good tea (long leaf if you can find it)can make the recovery go by a lot faster. Take care and feel better. |

Ryan and family - I'm wishing you a speedy recovery, and take care of yourself over work! |

Ryan, If you really wanted to take advantage of your situation, keep taking the pain pills, and start working on a new image. I'll bet it will come out as an abstract whether it started that way or not. Keep Laughing. It may not be the best medicine, but it is the best of all narcotics! I hope you fell better soon. Get well soon and try to Have a Happy Holiday :-) |

Hopefully you're on the road to a full recovery. Song of the Sky (Yuletide) is a pretty good Christmas artwork in itself, and I thank you for it. Meanwhile, we can all look forward to spring. |

Just get better!! Don't worry about this stuff your life and your families life is more important then whether or not we get new wallpaper. |

Ryan, Thank you for sharing your situation. I, for one, will be here when you are ready to return to creating new images that will undoubtedly carry us to many new and wonderful places, just as they have in the past. Take time to heal and revitalize your creative spirit. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. |

Just take care of yourself. Your pieces are the best on the web. You're a very talented individual and would me missed here if you didn't get better (heal) and continued your work without pain of any kind. I hope these comments are apropriate and not troublesome in anyway. I don't post very much on the web, but I thought this was neccesary. Jeff |

Don't worry, Ryan. We all know what it feels like to be under the weather, and I'm sure you'll be back to your creative self in no time. Don't worry about us, we have plenty of your genius artwork to hold us over until you get well. I'll be praying for you! God Bless! |

Would just like to add my voice to those wishing you well. Hope your Christmas is cheerful despite the medical problems. This will give me an opportunity to go back and revisit some of my favourite 2008 pieces that didn't stay on the desktop long because another work came along to replace it! I think I'll start by going back to "At World's Edge" ... :) Looking forward to some awesome new work in 2009 or whenever you feel up to it! |
||
Gabe |
Ouch dude, hope you feel better soon! No sweat on the artwork - time of is good to give the creative juices a fresh recharge. Your members aren't going anywhere. ;-) |

Having also had my share of surgery, not to mention currently dealing with an injured rotator cuff, I know all about pain... and I know how hard it is to focus...even on the things you love. So, I'll add my best wishes and hope you feel better soon. When you can come back to the art, we'll be here...I can't even count how long I've been a member myself... So, a speedy and uneventful recovery to you, and hope you have a happy holidays!! |

Ryan, Take care of yourself and get better soon. Jessie, Ian and Jason all need you to be well, so the art can definitely wait. Don't sweat it! Rest up and we'll be here when you recover. All the best, Mark. |

I'm a new member, as of today, but have admired your work for a decade. Your "Song of the Sky (Yuletide) -- Christmas 2008" is stunning and, for myself, could not be cheerier. Maybe to others it looks like a lone stalwart against the drabness of the world, but to me it symbolizes light shed to others. A beacon, if you will, for all those who search for safety in the holidays. There are many of us who search. This tree speaks of "home." I don't know what your medical stuff is about, I have three pounds of titanium and carbon fiber in my back and know the multiple surgical process well. I also know that you might want to take yourself off-line for awhile. Actually, you "need" to do that. From what I've read on your site-comments, your friends wish you well. Take their advice. Take the time to heal. 'Nuff said. |
||
Devon Shaw |
Get well soon -- art is second to health, don't sweat it. |

Ryan, we have PLENTY of images to keep us going. For the last 10 years, you've taken care of us in bringing to life your creativity and imagination. It's time to take care of YOU. Just get better as you can--not as SOON as you can. Thanks for even keeping us in the loop. Take care, Ryan. :) |
||
Sandy |
Just take care of YOU and don't worry about having to work on any art. Keeping fingers crossed that everything goes well and for a speedy recovery. |
||
Dan |
In this time in history, health, happiness and family are more important than ever. So take the time you need, spend the holiday's with your family. When you are ready we will be here for more artwork, but it's more important to care about yourself right now. Have a good holiday and we'll be here whenever the first wallpaper of '09 is to come! |
||
Delila |
Ha, caught everyone by surprise? Sounded bad to start with, but what I mean is you DO owe us, Ryan. As friends you owe it to us to be healthy and happy and to continue to bring the magic into our lives that only you can bring. Don't rush things! You have to take care of yourself--mind, body, heart and soul--so that you can do what you were meant to do and be what you were meant to be. And we owe it to you to do our part to assist you in that endeavor. Right now that means graciously giving you time to heal properly, be it 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months. I cannot imagine life without Digital Blasphemy and that means Ryan Bliss. Don't knock yourself out doing a less-than-stellar piece just because we've paid for a membership and you think you owe us. We paid for a membership because we know that, when the time is right, you always present us with a piece of yourself that we can get lost in. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas, and wish you good ju-ju and the best of God's blessings in 2009! |
||
Kody |
hey ryan, take it easy for a while, just sit back recover and watch some scooby-doo or something for a while. Youve done all these wonderful things for us over the years and now its our turn, we should all give you time to rest without the thought of work. its our christmas present to you to not demand anything and to let you relax as much as possible and have time off to spend the holidays. have a good christmas Ryan, Get well soon. |
||
Daniel |
Ryan, Please take care of yourself and your health first! We all can wait till you have passed a good and healthy recovery. Take care and enjoy the holidays! Daniel |

You could always do a Nightmare Before Christmas type design. Just a thought for when you climb out of the dumps :) |
||
Chuck |
I've been watching the comments pile up and I'm probably not the only person to see that this is no ordinary group of "fans." Your art has opened the door to a community that truly appreciates and supports you. That's not an easy thing to do. I agree with etc, people feel happy here, like a gathering of friends. And friends always come together to support each other when one is experiencing difficulties, which clearly radiates from the comments made here. So take care of yourself. We'll all be here to welcome you back when you've healed! Have a great Christmas Ryan! |
||
sarkassas |
Get well soon Ryan, I hope you will be able to enjoy a quiet and peaceful Christmas. Take it slow and let your body heal. Best wishes from Seattle! |

Mark J. |
Enjoy (as much as possible) the holidays with your family. Recover in your own good time. My father had heart surgery in early October. He is still in ICU, but is finally gaining strength. Sometimes you just have to let nature heal you at its own pace. The fans of this site will be here when you return. Get well, Ryan. |
||
Mike |
Ryan, your health is more important than us getting new pictures, even if they are wonderful. Have a restful, safe, and healthy holiday season! |
||
Scott |
Don't worry about us. Speaking for myself I don't keep track of how many wallpapers you produce, I am just happy when a new one appears. Sorry you are feeling down and I hope things get better soon. |
||
Angie |
I've been a member of your site for almost ten years and your work is stunningly beautiful to behold. My friends and family have always complimented your wallpaper backgrounds and I would like to thank you for creating such amazing works of art. I also wish you a speedy recovery and good health in the coming year. Rest, be at peace and allow yourself to the time to heal. Till then, have a Happy Holiday Season and may it bring you joy. |
||
etc |
Ryan, you have done so much already... You created a whole new world, a world which is real and unreal at the same time, you brought together and built a new community of people here. Most of these people feels happy here, and with your art. You have told what you wanted to. You did a great work, and the work is a song of your soul. I really believe you can tell us some more if you want it to be! Be strong! We are with you! All together, all the people from here, from the world you built! From the world is digital blasphemy. M0Dificator. |

I feel so sorry you have to go through this during the Christmas season. I hope you recover quickly and are able to enjoy the holidays anyway. And don't worry about the wallpapers, we can wait; just rest well and get better. |

Get well. We'll wait. |

Tom |
Hi Ryan, Don't worry about doing any wallpapers, I think you have a huge selection of artwork already. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future, when you feel better. Don't get discouraged, physical ailments are a part of life, and the time away from the computer may also be time for latent ideas to come to the surface and for new ideas to be born. Take your time and relax, and I wish you and your family all the best and hope your recovery goes well! Tom |

What a terrible time of year to be feeling awful... I really hope that over the next two weeks, especially in time for Christmas, you're able to enjoy it the way you deserve to enjoy it. It's Christmas, after all! Hope everything is going well, and that you and your family are coping with it in a positive manner. :) |
||

Hoping you have a quick and as pain free a recovery as possible. Thanks for all the wonderful pieces of art. |

Jenanne |
Dear Ryan: I'm so sorry to hear that your first surgery didn't take care of the problem. I'm just glad, as I'm sure we all are, that it isn't life threatening or permanently incapacitating. Don't worry about getting back to work this year. Take it easy, follow your doc's orders and advice, and know that your fans are thinking about you and wishing you all the best. You've given us so many wonderful images -- now it's time to take care of YOU. |
||
Chris |
Wishing you a speedy recovery! |

Wishing you all the best and a quick recovery. Don't worry about us - just call it a year, and for DB it has been a fantastic one! You definitely made your best artwork ever in 2008. So... see you sometime or other in 2009 (hopefully)! |
||
Donna |
Ryan..you have already given so much it's now time for you to rest and give to yourself. Allow time to heal and although it's hard try to keep positive thoughts. It really does effect your overall recovery. I had surgery in 1999 a bowel resection due to Crohn's disease. Was in the hospital a week. My first night home I woke only to return to the hosptial for surgery again, and ended up staying in the hospital for 2 weeks then. Needless to say a lot of my intestines were removed and well although now I'm better I have to stay close to a bathroom after eating. I don't have as much pipes as everyone else so the tank empties almost right after eating. Spontaneous life now has to be more planned and it all has to be done around before I eat. I got really down during the recovery but try your best to keep a good outlook. Stress has a bad tendency to not allow you to heal properly. I'm not sure how religious you are or if you believe in God or a higher power. But faith will do wonders. Wishing you a restful, peaceful holiday! |
||
Roberto |
Ryan, stop thinking about your job now and, this time, DON'T make a move before your doctor tells you can move :) Your health is the only important thing now. Rest and have a peaceful Xmas with your family. My best wishes for everything Ryan! Yours, Roberto |
||
Jason |
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Ryan. Your work has graced my desktops for close to five years now, and I look forward to seeing your next work, whenever you're able--I'll patiently wait for it. Cheers and Happy Holidays. |

Surgeries can suck...especially when you have to have several. I have seen my dad go through two or three in the past couple of years and I think that is almost as annoying for him as the minor problem they were supposed to have fixed! Not to mention the fact that you usually crank out some awesome wallpapers pretty quickly sometimes, so you deserve the break to take it easy and recover. Take care of yourself and we will still be here when you get back. :-) |
||

Don't worry, World's Edge Winter looks so good on my desktop that I don't mind leaving it on for awhile. Hope you feel better soon. Merry Christmas |

Take the holidays to relax! Don't worry about wallpapers. :) I have enough to last me a long time. Hope you get well soon! |

We will certainly survive on your existing works until you feel ready to start creating again. Hope you have a good recovery and can enjoy the holidays with your family. |
||
Rick |
Sorry to hear your treatment and recovery will be more lengthy and uncomfortable, but rest assured that we're wishing you the best, and not concerned if you need a holiday vacation (medical or not.) An update and/or photo from you and your family is the only Christmas present that we need. :) Happy holidays! Rick |
||
Sara |
The only thing you need to worry about is your recovery and your family. There are enough Christmas & Holiday wallpapers to use as wallpapers for months to come. Besides, at 4 below and almost 30 below windchill in Minneapolis, I may be opting for a summery wallpaper to dream over. |

Take your time. Take care of yourself. Get well. Have a good Christmas. ... We'll be here when you get back. |

I am convinced that the mettle of a man is proved in the darkest hours - That it is not the ease of our life, nor the "fun" of it that makes it wonderful, but the contrast between our deepest sorrow and our greatest joy. Soldier on Ryan, our best Christmas wishes to both you and your family. Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is just around the corner. |

I plan on having "At World's Edge (Winter)" the entire winter season, so no rush to get back to work. Go for quality not quantity :)! Good luck to you Ryan, and happy holidays! |

whatever time you need ryan, know all of us are behind you. one's health is certainly more important than work. we all (should) understand that. may you heal quickly so you can be 100% for your family and all else you love ... including your work. |

Don't sweat it Ryan. There's lots for us to enjoy for now. Just take the break you deserve and the newest winter theme is beautiful, and will certainly suffice. Good luck with things, hopefully you'll feel better enough to enjoy the holidays at least! I think I can speak for everyone when I say that you should concentrate on you for now, have a happy holiday; and return when you're refreshed. Good luck with everything! |
