I think the Cooliris option is a nice addition and I'm glad you're making improvements like this to the site Ryan. I think implementing a discussion forum here at DB is a logical next step and would be really well received. New threads for each image so people could interact a little more easily than the current comments interface and separate sections for aspiring digital artists to discuss techniques and software would be great additions to the site. This is the one thing that is missing from the site as it is... a sense of community. While it's great to look at your artwork and comment on it every week, being able to get to know fellow DBers would be an awesome way for the site to grow. There are great tools out there to easily accomplish this such as: www.vbadvanced.com and www.phpbb.com Please let me know if you choose to do this and would like any help. |

Actually I haven't seen much of an impact on bandwidth. I don't think large numbers of people are using the Cooliris option. Oh well, it's there if you want it... |
Daanoz |
Hmm, pretty neat... that really must eat bandwidth as hell :p |

Is very cool. =) |

I look forward to my computer each work day as I know your magnificent artwork is on my screen to greet me. I absolutely love your seasonal stuff. As you can guess, I need visual escapism on a daily basis. Keep up the fantastic work. Would LOVE to update my crappy screen savers, but would only trust you to keep me happy. |

Awesome idea! Looking through all those images on cooliris definitely brought back some nostalgia being able to look at a ton of wallpapers I haven't seen in ages. Ever considered a new render of 'swan'? |

Yes, that may be so Seth, but you do not have to register in order to use the service. It still is the ultimate cool factor particularly with your site Ryan. |
Ryan |
Thanks for clarifying Seth! |

Ryan, I copied the following from the privacy policy on the Cooliris website: "In some cases, this information is also used to serve relevant and interesting content and advertising streamed through Cooliris Products. If and when you register for the Cooliris Service, we ask for basic registration information, such as your name, age, sex, likes/dislikes, a username and password, which you choose, and an e-mail address for Cooliris support. You may also enter in certain passwords and user names for third party sites and services. We use this information to suggest content, to deliver advertisements, to learn about our audience, including through non-personally identifiable statistics (e.g. percentage of male viewers aged 35-44), and to apply what we've learned to improve the service. " Too much directed advertising for me; potentially makes Cooliris adware in my mind |

Thanks for the feedback Seth. I'd be interested to know what you found objectionable in their TOS. Either way, this isn't going to replace the normal way of viewing my gallery. Beyond enjoying an extra piece of eye candy there shouldn't be any pressure to install the plugin. |
SethR |
Sorry to be negative, but I find Cooliris terms of service not acceptable, and I will not download the plug in |

Just another message of support for this... great way to view your whole gallery. Well done! |

Digital art, in a digital galley online, really just an excellent way to display your art!!! |

Okay...Cooliris is pretty damned nifty... |
Matt |
Awesome! I've been using cooliris for a couple months now (spares me from youtube comments) and really like it. Of course, your gallery looks far better on that flying wall than a bunch of meme videos... |

Ryan, Jordan has it right nice "time-line" feel, but it seems not exactly a reverse time-line. I'm I wrong or are the images not in a "True" chronological (posted) order? Is there a fix? BTW - Way cool on the Cooliris! KUDOS! Cheers, Eric |
Jordan |
I LOVE IT!!!! It's so easy for me to browse through the entire gallery, and pick the image that I need. Also, I really liked the "time line" feel it had....seeing your most recent work, then "flowing" all the way to the early years. VERY INTERESTING, and I'm glad you added this. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! |

Im blown away like everyone else. What a great way to display all your work. Unfortunately, I had to load it up in Firefox because I too primarily use Opera. Still, it looks awesome. |
Don |
I had forgotten some of my old favorites! What a great way to present your art! Thanks! have a great weekend! I hope you are feeling better! Don |

Mega cool. It looks amazing on my 40" 1080p Samsung LN40A650 tv/moniter. you have no idea. Super-Ridiculous wow. |

It's like a trip down memory lane - almost literally. I can't think of a better way to showcase your images, Ryan. If anything it truly highlights the breadth of your talents, and the variety of subjects really stands out. Fantastic. |
Merlyn |
that is very cool. I recently re-subscribed after a hiatus and I'm glad I'm back... |
Kimmo |
Definitely a great way to browse the gallery. Like others, I've spotted quite a few images that I somehow had "missed" before. Or perhaps wasn't in the mood for originally, but rather like them now. Thanks! |
RobO |
Looks cool in IE, but it doesn't work with Opera (yet), as Cooliris doesn't have a plugin for Opera. I've used Opera for years and really like it. I'm not about to switch to IE or Firefox. |

Disregard the last comment about going to the gallery from Cooliris. I should pay more attention to questions already answered... |

Very cool plugin. I really like how it allows you to view the entire wall of DB. It is pretty cool to go all the way to the right (assuming that is the oldest) and see how you (and the software) has progressed over the years. Amazing plugin. I only wish you could click on the larger image (the one after the thumbnail) and go to the gallery. |
Guri |
It looks like a fantastic way to browse the entire collection considering how long it's been here. I enjoyed browsing with this program. |
Matt |
Installed the plug-in. Pretty cool. I feel kinda sick though. |
Deac0n |
The wall of images is a cool effect, but seeing all of your images like that is mind blowing! I saw a lot of images that I haven't seen in a long time and some that I definitely missed... I am definitely hoping that you had this experience as well and will continue re-drawing some of the older pictures some more! WOW!!!!! |

sweeeeeet! :) |

I love it! This is a great addition for simple browsing and selecting, but it also truly shows your depth, skill, and growth as an artist. 5/5 from me. |
Foz |
I implemented it on my site ans was wondering when you would implement it on yours. This goes to show - we really are in the 21st century! |
Ryan |
Click the little arrow next to the title on the bottom to go to the image in the gallery. |
Ben |
WOW. Very nice way to display your work! Im floored! Ben |
PeterS |
Wow, that's really nice, very beautiful... Is there anyway that you can provide links to the page on db where we can download the wallpaper though? |
Matt |
Great addition. I use Cooliris all the time for photo browsing. |
Logical |
Sounds good! Sorry about the double post- something with Firefox. |

That is really cool- I had seen it before and had wondered if there was a way to do this. One question: is the link in your post the only way to get to it? Perhaps a dropdown menu for the "see all" link on the side would work. Maybe give the option of the current thumbnail page or this Cooliris one. It looks really cool- even the best artist needs a good way to display his work. |
Ryan |
Logical: I need to add some code to each of my pages in order for them to be able to load the Cooliris view. For now, I only have the entire gallery presented but in the future I may create "yearly views", or even break it down further. Mandi: I ran it on my old laptop and it seemed to run fairly smoothly. I would imagine people with really old setups are probably used to the flashy stuff not running smoothly though. The "old" ways of viewing my gallery will remain as they are of course. |

That is seriously beautiful. I have a very current processor and video card, but I wonder if people with older equipment will see such a smooth presentation. |
MistPanth |
I think this is a great idea! It has a smooth movement (at least on my laptop) and it looks real nice. Good thinking! |
SCM |
That is about the coolest thing I have ever seen. Outstanding. |
