The faint nebula in the background is a nice touch. |

Amazing!!! |

@Ryan, the first version was cluttered. This version is much better, more in scale with the planet view. If you continue in this direction, you will have an absolute winner. |

Just need the USS Enterprise coming out of the cloud banks. |

Ryan, What I am looking at is a view from a close orbit to a planet that is choked with what looks like clouds. I'm not sure what effect you are going for seeing as though there is no title or description to this work in progress but just taking it at face value I have 2 interpretations: Either the clouds are in fact smoke as a result of a volcanically active planet in which case the clouds are not acting naturally because volcanic smoke caps off at a certain altitude due to pressure change in the various layers of the atmosphere. In this picture the atmosphere doesn't appear to have any definite layers. My other interpretation is that it is natural clouds. If this is the case then the points I mentioned before are still relevant. Also the size and details of the cloud texture doesn't fit the planet. On a planetary scale you do not see so much detail in clouds when looking at the planet from the outside in. My suggestion is remove about 80% of the clouds. Open the planet up and show the beauty of nature. Add in some green and contrast it the blue ocean maybe a desert. If it I a volcanically active planet show some volcanos. Maybe even add a moon or some type of natural satellite. From one artist to another, let the project talk to you. As the piece develops it tells you what it wants, take time and listen to it because this one is screaming at you. |

Oooooooo!!! Way cool ^_^ |

Some of the clouds on your "work in progress" are wispy and somewhat opaque. I think that makes them look more like clouds and less like snow on the mountain. Leave the building in place; it adds mystery. I like how you made some of the peaks visible, too. Great job! |

As opposed to what Paul suggested I would suggest removing the bright plants at the top. They look more like dripped paint on a photo then plants. Try having a starry or moonlight glow coming from the exterior holes, but make it a different color then the cave florescence. Maybe also dim the water and move the slight a bit more to the cracks and stalagmites so it doesn't look like a slight source reflection. |

Try making the flourescent threads much longer. Without turning the whole thing into The Matrix. ;-) |

for some reason I'm thinking of a chess set...inteesting... |

I love this, Ryan! Can't wait until it's in the gallery. |

@Gesus is onto something here. Whether or not you intended the landscape to be water, it certainly looks like it. As such, I humbly suggest you give this a name in homage of the late Carl Sagan, and call it "The Shores of the Cosmic Ocean" (the title of the first episode of the classic "Cosmos" TV series). |

Absolutely breathtaking! This is one of my top ten favorites. Thank you for all the incredible work. |

I love how the ripple reminds me of a cosmic ocean you could swim in. And i like the textures closer to the center of the ripple. Amazing |

Funny I was just thinking recently how cool it would be to seen an update to the grid, (which was in fact the first wallpaper I ever used from you.) |

This new 'blue squares' abstract looks very promising. I'm intrigued that the small version, visible as a preview on the page, is all blues and greens, whereas if you click on it you see a version with reds instead of greens. I hope this means that there'll be at least one or two Pickle Jar variants with a choice of colours. Anyway, I'm liking the look of this one. |

I LOVE the glow and intensity of the red and the way the slight fog picks it up. Maybe a tiny bit of intense purple (just as intense as the red) in the foreground... just a tiny bit?? It's an amazing piece, as always! |

This looks great. I love the color, reminds me of the opening planet in Star Trek Into Darkness. I almost expect a shadowy reflection of the enterprise in the water. |

I'm loving that fog, Ryan, and the picture as a whole. My eyes are going a bit bonkers over the red, however. I would love a moonlit version of the original daylight purple scene, for variation :) |

This is an awesome rendering! I absolutely love it. |

John |
Just wow. |

Jenanne |
This is amazing, Ryan. Ace, I understand what you're saying about balance, but in this case I like the contrast. If the bottom wasn't subdued, the render would be overwhelmingly bright. Can't wait until this one hits the gallery! |
||

I'm really a fan of what's happening here, however, is there a way to brighten up the bottom half of it? I feel like the greenery around the bottom could add some nice contrast and match the liveliness of the red above |

Wow.. Absolutely breathtaking... For the first 30 seconds I thought you made a .gif.. Optical illusion at its finest.. Bravo Ryan. |

A very interesting take on Halcyon. I like the new colors but maybe change the lighting or lighting color to give it a more otherworldly feel. Overall, well done. I'm looking forward to more on this one. |
