For this scene I tried something I haven't really worked a lot with before...rain. I still have a lot to learn but I hope you enjoy it!

"This made me cry"
This picture made me cry as it is almost an exact picture of a summer camp I stayed at when I lived in Asia in Middle School. This is almost exactly the view of the cabin while we were sailing in the bay in front of the cabin. Several times we were sailing in the rain in front of Camp Castaway (in Malaysia) and it looked just like this.

"Here comes the rain"
Don't know if this was partly inspired by your Hawaii trip or not, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw this. And I love it.

It's a different side of paradise, where it's so fine, that even a rainy day can't ruin it. I'd love to go there, even if it is raining.

"Good Times Remebered"
Reminds me of when I used o live in the Caribbean. Actually, pretty similar to what the local painted, only looking from the opposite view.

"Love it"
I really love the sense of scale in this one. The cliffs completely towering over the house is great. The pristine white sand on the beach and the reflection from the water is amazing. So good.

This is my favourite ever image from DB. So dramatic. Such a sense of place. The atmosphere is consuming.

"Cliffs"
Ryan, mountains are sometimes just cliffs that don't know when to quit. If you want something gorgeous next June bop over to British Columbia and take Highway 99 north. Worth it, trust me. More or less vertical from salt water to snow line.

Ya' done good, Ryan.

"Love This"
Love this Oceanic scene very beautiful, so inviting so peaceful, just the sound of birds and surf. ¡Viva oceánica!

No worries, those don't look like mountains but being green they are distinctly different cliffs. Imposing to be certain as they dominate when noticed, this is really a great scene as it inspires a want to be there. Constructive criticism would 'only' be in the look of the water in rain, I'd expect less reflective surface and the distance always looks misty in rain, in other words most distant objects would be less clear than usual due to the rain. Movie makers ALWAYS get it wrong with their fake rain scenes.

"Cliffs"
The inspiration for this render was an photo I glimpsed briefly on Instagram of a little house in the tropics nestled under a cliff. If folks think they are mountains in the distance then perhaps I have failed to depict them properly.

"Just like here"
As I downloaded this lovey image the sunny day is disappearing behind grey, stormy skies. I'm not as close to the sea as your house but not too far away. I have to agree that the mountains do loom over the cove a bit too much. That is only my personal preference though. Thanks for sharing

"Rainy Day"
I'll take a rainy day in paradise ANY time! Looks nice, Ryan. I couldn't really see the drops on the water until I enlarged the view but overall I'd say you did quite well for your first 'experiment' with rain!!

"A Rainy Day in Paradise"
Love the rain - just need to lower the saturation of the house colour as it would appear so bright in tropical rain. Love the circles in the water from the large raindrops

"Rain is tricky"
My office window looks out at a nearby mountain, and I can see rain progressing towards me from the far side of it. In the distance it looks more like fog, denser the farther away. Nearby it's less uniform, but not in any consistent way -- the drops are too small to see more than a short distance off.

Your use of a quiet inlet to show the raindrops is good, but if they're visible close they should be partly obscuring by the time you get to shore and perhaps a few more steps as you approach the mountain side.

The random cloudlets are good -- very much like saturated air.

I've been a desert dweller all my life -- nearly 70 years -- and grew up paying a lot of attention to rain. For good or ill, my visits to Hawai'i have all be to the dry side of the islands, much like Arizona actually.

"Skip the back ground mountains "
Love the foreground. I do like this but I'd love to see a version without the back ground mountains. They do make it look a bit more 'dramatic' but maybe some rain cloud sky instead ?. A warm sunshine day version would be interesting too I think ?

"Vietnam Inspired?"
Ryan,

This is one of your best pieces. Were you inspired by our ladies' home?

Hope you, Jessica and kids are well,

"all it's missing is a hammock"
I really like this one. I'd setup a hammock between 2 of those palm trees close to the house.
