As the afterglow our trip to Hawaii faded and the reality of winter set in, my thoughts took a bit of a darker turn. This piece was born out of working with the new Plant Factory to create inorganic looking structures. Created and rendered entirely on my Bucephalus workstation while Shadowfax worked on something else.

"A low light incredible image"
Ryan:

Great detail and an original image. I'm used to seeing a bit more color or highlights in your darker rends.

Please keep the multi-screen versions coming. They're a big part of why I continue to renew my membership every year.

"Dark"
A bit dark for my tastes, but the lights in the background helps alleviate it.

Ahh yes, been waiting for another emotion inducing seasonal render. Very soon I will be going from a year in the tropics to cold weather again so this is perfect to have on my desk.

Sorry about that. It was an oversight on my part. I have no plans to remove the multi-5K option!!

"Hi-res multiscreens missing"
Hi Ryan,

I'm pleased to see the multi-screen renders, and this set is particularly good, I think; plenty of interest right across the width. But I'm sorry to see that 'my' resolution is missing: I always like the 5K ones (2880 depth). Is their exclusion an oversight or did something go wrong?

"Strange, dark, alien...yet soothing"
I like this one a lot. Reminds me of Erebus.

I'm also not sure how to classify this one, whether it's a vista or an abstract. Either one works, really.

Ryan? Home run on this one. 10/10.

I tend to agree with you. For some reason I had to really crank up the density to keep the lights in the background from showing through strangely.

"Kinda wierd…"
…but I like it! :-)

The only aspect that I'm not too keen on is the fact that the clouds, to me, look a bit too solid. They look like gobs of shaving foam floating in the sky. I know clouds aren't translucent, but they generally look less solid than these. But it's a minor point. Overall, great scene!

"Now that really works..."
Superb. Sadly and unusually, I wasn't a fan of Breath of Spring or Mauka but this is brilliant return to form. Your off-world landscapes are just awesome and this is another brilliant example.

As one of the multi-screen crowd can I beg for a Dual at some point. Pretty please.

"Yikes!"
This is fabulously, amazingly imaginative and evocative. I can get lost in this! I had been hoping for a work that is the artistic/spiritual descendant of the early DB fantastic landscapes, and this certainly is one!

Really love this off World render, great detail, light and the imagination it spurs, makes it where you have to go out and explore this alien landscape. Great Render Ryan

Anyone else getting a Crystalline Entity vibe from this? Love the work on it, Ryan.

"love it"
Would love to see more in this vein - Ringworld/Dyson sphere/terraforming concepts are always a fascinating mix of natural and engineered surfaces, forms and textures.
