Snowy Creek Springtime
"Snowy Creek Springtime"

Ryan's TipJar

The first "Vernalis" was based on the dreary, tardy Spring of April 2018 so I thought it would be fun to show the difference a week of warm weather can make. Haven't decided if this one will go in the Pickle Jar or stay in the gallery though. What do you think?

I like this version as well. So much brighter and green life. Are you going to do all the seasons for this picture?

"FB cover Plz"
Would like to see this as a Facebook cover. Is Autumn here in Aus and with the strange weather we've been happening the trees think it is Spring.

"hmmm"
I really love the sping part of this...but the red tree against pink looks out of place. The original is striking, this is fun...but only if you know the original.

Keep the pink stuff and use a different focal tree!

Or pickle jar it. :)

"Definitely the gallery"
The first was one mood, this is another. I suppose you could have fun doing a widescreen that morphed from one to another, but if I have to choose this is just plain prettier.

"Nice but..."
...since we're in autumn/fall here in Australia I'll stick with the original!
But come Spring time I'll probably change my mind.

"Not the same impact as the first one"
It's pretty, and I like the transition idea, but the drama was all in the first picture: there's no feeling of 'topping that' about this one. For me, it's only a Pickle Jar variant as it stands.

Another picture reverting to a thunderstorm blowing the blossoms away - or an animation completing the circle from light back to gloom - might make for an impressive series, though

"Love the transition, an animation would be fantastic"
On its own, I find the original more striking, but *after* seeing it, flipping to the spring atmosphere here is beautiful and uplifting. Any chance you could render an amination?

Simple image-to-image transition can't work of course — grass & flowers should grow not "teleport in" — but I tried ImageMagick "morph" and it's surprisingly not bad demonstration of the potential:

convert vernalis13xuhd.jpg vernalisbloom13xuhd.jpg -morph 10 vernalis-blooming.jpg

(Creates vernalis-blooming-0.jpg to vernalis-blooming-11.jpg)

I also can't not mention the wonderful timelapses in Planet Earth of trees changing with seasons — episode 1 "From Pole to Pole", 18:10~20:10 :-)

"Prefer the original"
I don't think you've created anything that I've voted less than a 7 or 8 and that's just because I compare them to your other images that I love more. I love all the pink in Sakura and it's pretty here, too, but I think it distracts from the beauty of the single red tree in the original Vernalis. I think I'd like to see a mod of this version without the red tree...just the tall pink trees and the water.

"Lovely!"
I have been using the original Vernalis on my setups for a bit, but this one is very much "spring". It's beautiful, and I think it deserves its own spot in the gallery. :)
