I'm a fan of monochrome, and this is a great one. Somehow, it's almost like an illustration, rather then a render--not as "slick" as some of them, and that's nice.

"Retrospective comment"
I too have always liked this one -- at least since I first found the site 2002-ish. It has been my background several times over the years during the fall, and it is again right now.

Yesterday, I had a new thought about it: if it is ever "updated," perhaps the level of the sun in the sky might be "lowered." While it might well be an effect of my settings, it seems to me that the overall ambient light level does not seem to match how high the sun is in the sky. In other words, the overall light level and color suggest a later time of day than the sun position does.

That said, if I were re-rating it today, I'd still consider it a 9.5, 'cause I still just love it. Thanks again, Ryan, well done and keep up the good work.

"Introduction"
A friend of mine introduced me to this site, and your work, with this image in 2001. I was absolutely captivated by this image. I first saw the 800x600 resolution image and thought it was the best thing ever. I am very happy to see that it has survived in popularity to see itself be re-rendered into higher resolutions for the modern era and it still looks amazing.

"LOVE IT!"
I printed this picture years ago as a test when I first got picture paper for one of my first printers. I loved it so much I framed it and the fact that digitalblasphemy.com is written on it brought me back to this site after having forgotten. Now I'm a member and have no regrets!

Would it be possible to render this picture in 1920 x 1080. I am using it now but using what was available. I think this is a warm and beautiful picture.

"Dual Screen Versions?"
Any chance you have plans to make dual screen of any of your night city images? They are my favorites and it would be great to have them for my dual widescreen setup at work.

...Of Norfolk, England (excepting the trees). It's well known for The Broads, a network of rivers and man made lakes which were formed from medieval peat diggings which subsequently flooded.

Short geography and history lesson aside, this is a really great piece. I'd put it forward as a candidate for a re-render... With different trees and an old windpump which would really set it off. Of course, that's just a personal thing!
