In the Spring of 2015 I asked my fans for helpt with a new machine to keep up with rendering for quickly growing pixel density monitors (4K, 5K, 8K, etc).

#ProjectShadowfax was a tremendous success! Not only did I build an extremely powerful workstation, but I one of my many sysadmin supporters donated a pile of unused RAM that he had sitting around so I was able to upgrade Bucephalus to 128 GB (to load and render whatever creations I might make on Shadowfax).

With the RAM that I took out of Bucephalus (replaced with the new sticks from the "Ram Fairy") and the extra funds from Project Shadowfax I was able to purchase the parts to build a third, "Bucephalus-Class", system which I have dubbed "Arion". Specs:

Two Xeon X5690 3.46 GHz Proc (purchased second-hand for around $200 each)
SUPERMICRO MBD-X8DTi-F-O Dual LGA 1366 Motherboard
56 GB of RAM (From Bucephalus and the Ram Fairy)
EVGA GTX980 (New)
SSD boot drive (Samsumg EVO Pro)
Supermicro Server Chassis
