I recall having one of the worst holidays in memory when you released "Blue Christmas" (1999) and it really turned things around for me that year. Mind-blowing to think how far we have all come since that time. This one seems fitting for our times right now and I hope everyone in the Digital Blasphemy community gets an opportunity to enjoy a Christmas walk of their own this year with family and friends. |

I love the overall impression. It's spellbinding. That said, there are some small, but notable, issues. In my opinion (and remember, it's only that!), some of the boundaries aren't quite right. They're too cut and sharp -- snow and uncovered ground don't ever contrast that way in the "real world." For whatever reason, your works from 10-12 years or so ago seemed to depict such things with much more smoothness and subtlety. This said, the overall effect is so good I gave this piece a 10 notwithstanding! Nice work (as usual)!!! |

For me, the blur factor is to overwhelming. My eye / mind keep trying to find a focal point. Perhaps that was intentional. Maybe it's because there are too many points of light. I do understand the reflection on the pathway, what I assume is ice.
I think my mind sees blurry lights (reflections) and believes there should be a light source and there isn't one.
Perhaps what is needed is a few light posts (since the path looks man made) giving off a soft glow, and fewer reflection points. Say on the backside of the trees (away from the path).
Good attempt, but alas for me not your best work. Still, a keeper. |

Would love to see this in 3440x1440! I agree with the others, the depth of field seems shallow and the trees are blurred. |

As has already been posted, this one is missing my 3440 x 1440 resolution :( Nice image though. |

I like that it has a different quality to it, altho I can't really put my finger on it. It seems to strike me as though it's viewing a miniature diorama or something. Impossible not to compare to past scenes, but trying to evaluate on its own, it's intriguing as tho my brain is looking to figure out what's happening in it. |

Ryan, I agree with your comments and the above supporters. It might look better without any lights in the foreground trees, giving the image a bit of mystery. And definitely no lights on the walkway. Keep up your brilliant work! |

"Bit blurry ??" |

Is it me or is the resolution a tad off.
The 1920x1080 seems low res/out of focus - it also didn't Save in it's usual way. All a bit odd....
Might be me.... |

Ryan, have you thought about doing color variations of this one like you did for sleepwalkers winter/Christmas? |

Have to agree with "Littlemom", this is nice, but I do prefer some of the past xmas renders. This one seems a bit... blurry? And I can't choose the res I need - 3440 x 1440. |

I completely understand that it wasn't possible to put lights on the trees. I do believe that the effect came out looking great. One note though is the trees seem a little muddled compared to others. |

This is a nice render, but I found that I wanted to like it more than I do. I totally get the concept of what you were trying to achieve here, but I find it lacking just a bit compared to your previous Christmas renders. The bark doesn't look quite right and I'm not sure how I feel about the lights in the snow on the path. Regardless you still do amazing work Ryan and this will of course go in my Christmas wallpaper rotation. |
