Expanding my understanding of Cinema4D’s particle and Pyro systems here by attempting to simulate one of the most violent phenomena in the Universe: the supernova. The main challenge was to render something that is incalculably bright as something you could have on your desktop and look at without feeling blinded. The goal was to update “Nova” from 2001 but I think it turned out quite different and is distinctive on its own. Hope you enjoy it!

I knew folks would want to see a night version of “Reawakening” but I really wanted to add some more light to the scene to illuminate the trees from below (in addition to the moonlight from above). After some experimentation I settled on the same strategy I used for “Sakura (Night)” and added some floating lanterns to the creek.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments on this piece. I’m glad you enjoy it!

Happy Sunday to you all!
It’s been a while since I’ve done a Spring render that was unabashedly blooming and colorful. The goal here was simply to fill every pixel with colorful new life and sunshine. After a long winter I really needed something bright, warm and alive on my desktop. I hope you enjoy it too!

As mentioned yesterday, here’s one last version of “Dreamcatcher”. It’s a “night” version for those of you who prefer dark and glowy desktops.
It’s in the Pickle Jar for now but help me decide which version I should feature in the gallery!

Here’s a version of “Dreamcatcher” that more directly calls back to “Rings” from the ’97 gallery. It’s in the Pickle Jar for now. Which version should I feature in the gallery going forward??
PS: I have one more alternate take rendering and it will be available soon.
