It’s always a challenge to do night scenes without humans because, by nature, they tend to be very dark.     I took the opportunity with this night version of “Hidden Lake” to use the reflections to break up the darkness a bit.   I’d rather keep my nature scenes “untouched” by civilization so I hope you will let your eyes adjust to the darkness a bit.

This one started out as a bit of practice with Gaea on my Shadowfax workstation which the “Crystal Vale” rendered on Rochallor.      It was originally a desert scene but I found I liked it better when I added some life to the scene.    After working with shades of purple and pink for the few weeks it felt good to work with green again. I hope you enjoy it!

Experimenting here with Cinema4D to create crystal structures that I could then incorporate into a large scale VUE landscape.   Originally I envisioned this scene being underground in a large cavern but as I was exploring the possibilities I decided I liked the crystals better when lit by the sun.

I hope you enjoy it!!
