Spring is definitely in the air in my neck of the woods and that always puts me in the mood for a springtime render. I really enjoy living in a place with four distinct seasons and one of my favorite times of year is when all the plants wake up from their winter slumber. Every day there’s something new to see. I’ve tried my best to capture those emergent colors and the feeling of rebirth here and I hope you enjoy it!

I was fortunate to witness a total solar eclipse with Jessie and the kids in 2017 and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. What I remember the most was how large and detailed the corona appeared in the sky. Easily the largest thing outside our atmosphere I’ve ever seen. Now another eclipse is imminent here in the States (on April 8) and I’m hoping to see that one too. Weather permitting, totality is only a couple of hours drive from my home. A few Members requested I create an eclipse themed wallpaper and I thought that was a great idea.
I tried something a bit different with the corona here and I know it’s not entirely realistic looking. I wanted to use Cinema4D’s pyro system to create something hyper-detailed and stylized and I hope you don’t mind the license on my part. Here are my other eclipse themed wallpapers over the years if you are interested!
Safe travels and happy viewing to everyone hoping to see the eclipse on Monday!

By request I’ve added a couple of alternate versions of “Isometer“, one green and one white, to the Pickle Jar. I hope you enjoy them!

I know lots of folks prefer darker images for their wallpapers so when I create something bright and colorful I almost always create a more subdued variant. As promised here is the “night version” of “Isometer“. The palette took a bit of experimentation but I hope you enjoy the mix of colors.

Getting back into abstracts with this experiment in procedural object placement/shading using Cinema4D. The principles expand on what I learned to create “Proxima” and, like that project, I will be creating a darker “night version” shortly. I hope you enjoy it!
I’d also like to mention that the 3/31 date is fast approaching when my legacy credit card system will be turned off. If you do not have a payment method created on DB 2.0 your account will auto-expire on the renewal date. Legacy Members who signed up using PayPal are exempted but should still consider setting up a new DB 2.0 subscription.

Thousands of auto-renewing payments are going to be forcibly discontinued this year and my business is facing the greatest crisis it’s faced in nearly 10 years! If you really enjoy my work and want to see it continue I humbly ask that you not only create a new payment but consider a Plus, Donor or above Membership going forward.
Thanks everyone for your support and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
