Reimagining one of my old Lightwave favorites from my abstracts collection, “Orthohedron” from 2004. I used Cinema4D/Redshift for the rendering this time and Plant Factory for the modeling. Added a bit more color to this version.
I hope you enjoy it!

I’ve done Autumn and Summer versions of “Stillwater” so I’m sure some of you were anticipating the Winter scene. I’ve found there’s a pretty short window of time when people are receptive to Winter scenes though so I decided to wait until November to add this one to my gallery. Oddly enough though I worked on this piece back in August when I needed one more Winter scene for my 2024 Calendar.
Glad I can finally share it with you all. You will find an alternate version without the flying snow and frozen lake in the Pickle Jar.
I hope you enjoy it and the whole Stillwater series.

Shortly after sharing “Proxima” with you all I got to work adapting the Cinema4D skills I’d learned there to creating a galaxy. It took a quite a bit of experimentation to come up with something I liked but, again, I learned a great deal about Cinema4D in the process. Since this software costs me over $1,200 per year I feel like learning to use it properly is a major priority for me 😄
I hope you enjoy it and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

I thought it would be fun to do a color variation or two of “Proxima“. Here’s a “night” version in black and gold. Dedicated to my alma mater 🙂
I will probably move it to the Pickle Jar at some point but it’s in the gallery for the time being.

Back to learning how to use Cinema4D here. I have a specific astronomical scene in mind but I have to figure out how to model it first. This colorful scene is a stepping stone towards that goal and I thought it looked nice enough to add to my abstract gallery. I hope you enjoy it!!
