I was driving the other day across the grim Illinois winterscape and saw the sun beaming through a mostly leaden sky. It inspired me to try to recreate those sunbeams in VUE. I did attempt to make the foreground, created using GAEA, is a bit more interesting that the barren cornfields that surround me.
It’s another winter scene but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!

By popular request, here’s a night version of “Mist Upon The Meadow“. Honestly, it was a bit challenging to light the foreground here. There’s no human activity in the scene and, since it’s winter, no fireflies.
Hopefully I’ve added enough mist and fog so you can make out the trees and the general outline of the scene.
Sincerely hope you enjoy it! Back to learning Cinema4D now 😎

Had to take a break from learning new software to do a quick VUE landscape. Most of my winter renders are full of snow but here I wanted to create a different sort of scene. Mainly I was interested in using dormant vegetation and lots of earth tones to evoke the season rather than piles of the white stuff.
January in my neck of the woods means that grey and brown are currently the dominant colors and I wanted to try to make something beautiful using that palette. I hope you enjoy it!

Continuing my education with Cinema4D here. I’ve really neglected my abstracts gallery for the past couple of years and I hope to make up for that this year. Learning to create in C4D will pay dividends in my landscapes too though 🙂
I’ve included an early version in the Pickle Jar using a different shader. Hope you enjoy them both!

Here’s my first attempt at a ringed gas-giant planet created using Cinema4D and Redshift. I’ve already explored creating a “Class M” type planet with this new software and both projects taught me a great deal about the shading/rendering system.
As usual I used both planets in “ground based” renders. “Class M” can be found in “Arboreal” and this world can be viewed from the “Tropical Moon of Ianeira“. Hope you enjoy it!
