Please remake this one with larger resolutions. I used this for my background for years and I would love to use it again.

This one is nice. I can somewhat get a 4k version by using an AI upscaler, but I would much rather have a modern version of this remade.

  3. Ryan [nonmonthly]

This one would be complicated to remake as I cannot simply re-render it. I could probably simulate something similar in 3D though 🙂

  4. Donna [liferplus]

This is fun! Looking at these older renders. So much color, imagination. It is amazing to see what you were able to do with the software available at the time! Don’t ever stop creating new art. But YES, dig in and play with these past creations! If H2O Weave was a fabric, I’d wear it.

… and another that I would desperately love to see done in a modern resolution. This was my desktop background for quite a while, and one of the reasons I started subscribing to your website way back when!

  6. Valwit [lifer]

A new version would be nice. I like the colors and the simplicity somehow.

I agree with Ben; I’d love to see an remake/update, too. Something more interesting using the new technology would be just fine, thanks!

  9. Ben

That could be pretty great and would definitely be an interesting update to shift perspective.

  10. Ryan

This wouldn’t be too hard to accomplish in 3D I think. As draeke mentions below, it was fairly simple to create using Photoshop plugins back in the mid-90s, but I would rather do something more interesting if I was going to go back to it today.

  11. Ben

Another vote for a remake or modern scale render. I know you probably view it as early and simple, but I just love the colors and I’d love to be able to use it again. 🙂

  12. Jenanne

While you’re doing remakes/updates, Ryan, I’ve love to see what you’d do with this one using today’s technology. It may be a relatively simple design for an abstract, but it’s one of my all-time favorites. Or at the least, how about some sizes larger than the current 1024×768? (Yeah, I know it says it’s 1152×864, but it’s not.) Whaddya think?

  13. draeke

In the early days of Photoshop filters this wasn’t too hard to be done, i remember there were some plugins to make this effect. People ask for a re-render but maybe you could simply redo it in PS or upsample this image with some plugins that can enhance it and make it big enough for 1080p maybe 😉

    Still loving this one!

  15. SergioM

Would be great to see a new render.

This is an awesome image, I would also like to see an updated version!

This is a terrific image, and I’d love to see a new render too, or even a remake. It’s a wonderfully intriguing piece and it’s always part of my set of screensaver images (not quite big enough for wallpaper).

Also, one of the images in this 1997 abstract group is missing — it’s a set of four metal rings on a red gradient swirl background. I can see it when I click “1997 all,” and it’s labeled “Image 7 of 58,” but it vanishes when I try to set it as wallpaper or download it. I know, not likely at the top of your list. 🙂

Odd, just two days later, but I came back to this one — one of my very first favorites — and would love to see it updated to widescreen, etc.

  19. Xyverz

Can you make a 1920 widescreen render of this image? I would love to use it on my work box, but its resolution is too small.

I still to this day use this simple clean weaving desktop on a couple of laptops I use at work. It still gets admiration when it peeks out behind presentations on the overhead projectors.

I just put it on my comp to see how it’d stretch to fit, my wife said “That’s different… It looks like an Easter Basket on crack.”

    I think that’s a good thing 😉
