I actually created this desert lake as a colorful springtime scene and had meant to post it a few days ago. Looking at the calendar, however, I decided it might be more interesting to turn it into a winter scene and share that version first.

Thank you for this very unusual and very pleasant winter image. I also grew up in the high desert and (eventually) grew to love it. The juxtaposition of liquid water and snow with the sparse vegetation of the desert really grabs one’s interest.
