My last two renders have been a bit on the stranger side so I thought it might be a good time to do something with a little more universal appeal. I created "Sunrise Sonata" over the course of a single morning this week on Bucephalus and rendered it while "The Opening" was finishing up on Shadowfax. You know I love a good tropical scene from time to time and I hope you do too!

"Paradise"
This on my desktop at work (& home) and people keep asking where was the photo taken !.

I agree with some previous comments about the flatness of the water though. It doesn't seem to really match how far up the beach is the wet sand from the previous wave and the foam. (Which I think you nailed.)

Having said that this is an awesome pic. For me so much 'just looks right'. The clouds and the moon look so real and lighting and colours are spot on. Definitely one of my favs.

"Dreamland"
I think it's an instinctive attraction we have to scenes like this. One doesn't have to think about it, it's immediate and positive. My only nit pick is am I the only one hopelessly distracted by the flatness of the waves breaking on the beach? It only stands out because the rest is so exquisite...

"soothing"
Great to see a soothing, calming warm sunny beach. Even better having woken up to frosts most days this week where we are south of the Equator.

"Sea Foam"
Lighting the sea foam at the water's edge was the most difficult part of this render because there's no direct light source.

"Beautifully Serene"
Thank you for the beautiful landscape render, they are always my favorites that you do. This is really beautiful. Not much wrong with this one as overall it's so calming, however if I had one complaint about it it would be the sea foam could be a bit more realistic looking.

"Sunrise Sonata"
Fantastic work...… (kinda looks more like a sunset though).

"Peaceful and tranquil"
I can feel my cares melting away as I look at this. Gonna put this on my work PC to help de-stress me.

We often get foam on the shoreline that looks like this. If only we had the rest of the surroundings and not a chilly North Sea.

"beautiful and serene"
i just set it as my new background.

love the colors and mood.

do have to agree that the waves hitting the beach doesn't look that good to me. but it's a small thing for another beautiful piece of art from you.

"Breathtaking colors"
Breathtaking colors! Only the white foamy ripples near the beach seem unrealistic. Think I'll tweet them myself. Still 10* .

"New Category"
Nice! I just realized that this is the first explicitly "sunrise" scene I can recall. I may have to shuffle the indices I use to include that because this is excellent.
