I think the background is great! I do miss the depth of field look since all you see of the rock formations is an outline, possibly a bit of reflected light on the rocks from something behind the viewpoint, like a sunrise or sunset?
Doug [liferplus]
Nice work, Ryan!!
Nicole [basicmember]
How have I missed this one in the past? Beautiful night scene. Thanks!
Sylvia
God has truly blessed you. I love your work. All of them are breathtaking! I’m at a loss for words. I need to pick up my mouth from the ground first. Lol lol.
Susan [nonmonthly]
A bit much purple for me. I would have liked a few more colours
Maureen [basicmember]
I’ve seen the Northern Lights IRL only once. I love any opportunity to have them on my desktop, and you’ve just provided another opportunity. In purple!
Joel [liferplus]
Haven’t visited the site in a while and when I scrolled down on the main page to look at your recent work this one caught my breath.
Bart [nonmonthly]
Absolutely keep this in Gallery, looks amazing
Brian [nonmonthly]
Fantastic work. Keep it up!
Paul [liferplus]
Wonderful job, lovely wallpaper.
Deanna [liferplus]
I love the colors and beautiful, sparkly sky in this. Just.. wow. This is absolutely a new favorite. Looks amazing on my monitor.
Matticussimuss [basicmember]
I love this one, Ryan!
Ron Parum [lifer]
This is one of my favorite ones you have ever done. I really love the amazing purples you put in this one. Nice job!!!
Rodewaryer [basicmember]
Apart from a possible subtle glow from the clouds, this is pretty amazing and a gallery item without a doubt in my mind. Amazing in point of fact…
wildthotz [liferplus]
Never sure what comments are truly helpful or interesting for you, but couldn’t let this one go by without saying something. Wow, one of my favorites for sure.
Gene [lifer]
I’m calling this one a 9. It’s a beautiful rendering of a stunning night sky. Since it is, obviously, a NIGHT sky, it should be dark. To my eye, though, it’s a tad too dark. Still, another great work Ryan. Thank you!
Davin [basicmember]
I love the colors. I often use your darker images for my desktop as I work in the dark, but I don’t like just a black screen. I particularly like this one though.
GrnRaptor [lifer]
Having just set it up this way on my triple screen display I find using “The One Light” as my unlocked background and “Distant Lights” as my locked background to be highly aesthetically pleasing.
John Adams [liferplus]
This is most definitely worthy of the Gallery. It’s probably just me, but I prefer this to the day version by a large margin.
Patrick [liferplus]
This is simply amazing and well desiring of the #1 place. It is going to take awhile to replace this one as my wallpaper.

Very calm, simply Beautiful I really love this one, Great Render my Friend.
Jim [basicmember]
Multi-year member here and I really enjoy your nature scenes but you hit this one out of the park. Well done sir!

Gawjus!
wire [basicmember]
awesome! can we get multi monitor?
BobC [lifer]
I think gallery for this one. I like both of these images a lot, especially the day one with its exciting colors. I do find the clouds confusing – especially the wispy ones (lit in red-orange in the day version), which “should” be 6000+ feet above sea level. If interpreted by the eye in this way, it would mean the “haystacks” are tens of thousands of feet high (intended? the distant one on the right, seen most clearly in the multiscreen day version suggests that it might be). This, to me, confuses the scale of the scene and I actually think the image would work even better with no clouds in front of the haystacks
Shaz [lifer]
This one is calm, serene, beautiful. I didn’t care for One Light (simply a personal preference as orange tends to hurt my eyes), but this one is lovely. Definitely Gallery worthy 🙂

Yet… interesting… as well.
Very well done!
Xetal [liferplus]
I slightly prefer the One Light, but this is a great contrast to it – as a pair they’re as good as anything you’ve done
Herald Storm [basicmember]
If you have multiple monitors, this goes well with the Endpoint series!
Paul [donormember]
A+++++
Herald Storm [basicmember]
This is amazing! The coloring in the one Light is too loud for my tastes. This is fantastic! Maybe a little more ripple in the water though? Reflects a bit too much detail?
Littlemom [liferplus]
Wow Ryan this render is simply amazing!!! I like it even better than One Light. It’s absolutely perfect!!!
James Fox [basicmember]
10/10! Keep up the great work!
Suvana [lifer]
Awesome. Just the ticket for a beautiful but not intrusive background.
Karen [basicmember]
…naturally. It’s so atmospheric and serene. Beautiful render…thank you!
Mark A. [liferplus]
This one belongs in the gallery. 1,000,000,000… stars!
Ryan
It?s not hard to change the cloud formations but I really liked how I?d set them up for the ?day version?.
Susan [lifer]
I really liked One Light, but this hits it out of the ballpark.
Runemaster [basicmember]
Just a random thought here, but I was wondering how complicated it would be to make a night scene actually appear later in the day i.e. change the cloud formations and such. Obviously I know nothing about 3D rendering, so this might not be the most intelligent question. Just something I was thinking about.
Wintergreen [lifer]
Gallery. Absolutely. The One Light is beautiful but The Distant Lights is even more beautiful. Images like this are the reason DB is still my homepage all these years later – when I boot up the old bucket of circuit boards and bolts I need to see something this breathtaking. Thankyou.
Devon [basicmember]
This is going on all my devices. Absolutely love it.
Drew [nonmonthly]
This one belongs on the all-time top 10 imo!! Beautiful, masterwork!
Natalie [liferplus]
I have to admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of the daytime version, the colors were a little harsh for me. But, I love, love, love this nighttime version! Please give it a gallery space of its own.
Jenanne [liferplus]
Awesome work! This deserves its own place in the gallery.
Nogs [nonmonthly]
This is the night sky I like to see when I just turn the lights off and relax in the hill country of Texas.
Beverly W [liferplus]
I am literally awestruck with this. There are no words. You hit it out of the park with this one.
Phil C. [basicmember]
Wow, the varying shades of purple on this are outstanding. This’ll become one of my favorites, I can see. Love it!
Corwin Amber [nonmonthly]
I love the color scheme at night and the reflection on the water.
Jeffrey [liferplus]
I tend to like the darker wallpapers. This is stunning.
drow [nonmonthly]
this is what i want to see when i look up at the night sky.
Alec [lifer]
Every single time you post a new piece it makes my day
Todd [basicmember]
This is stunning. The foreground the background are subtle and dramatic. I really like it!
renrie [nonmonthly]
Beautiful night sky… such a calm I love it !
