Description

Exploring different ways to not only create geometric effects in Cinema4D but also light, texture and render them.   For this particular piece I am learning how to use the volume builder/mesher, which takes a 3D geometry that might have seams and turns it into a volumetric object before converting it back to something that looks seamless.

Very cool man! I think I like this one over the glass one. The blue color palette is on point! I use some software to generate colors for my desktop, and your wallpapers always create AWESOME looks. Thanks for everything you do, man!

I like the plastic version more overall. The lighting in the glass version is a bit brighter and the colors are a bit more gaudy, but the diffused lighting and the matte material texture work in the plastic version give the work an almost photo-realistic quality that sets it apart from the more shiny render in the glass version. I can tell it’s a rendered work, but the textures and depth of field and lighting give the impression of a photograph, despite it being an abstract.

Love this. How about one thats metallic? This seems very plastic to me.

Love it. Can we have some variations, maybe a grey & red or dark orange

I love your abstracts. A few pickle jar variations of this would be cool.

Thinking about the challenges of this piece actually enhances it as far as I’m concerned. Neat render sir.

My first thought was, “Someone’s 3-D printer went nuts.” (It later reminded me of a Three Stooges short where they tried to fix someone’s house plumbing.) I like it because it made me consider how it could be made in real life, and I couldn’t come up with an easy answer. 🙂

This looks too much like pieces of melted plastic. Don’t mind the design, but looking like plastic doesn’t give me good vibes.
