Description
I originally created this is a much more abstract piece using mathematical meshes from MathMod but I decided to dial it back a bit and go somewhat more conventional. The rocks were modeled using Oculus Medium. The main cave structure was a collaborative effort in Medium between me and my son Jason 🙂

I’m wondering what hidden City all the foliage is hiding, as I can just make out the outline of the animal.

Very lost world type thing and the ‘rock monster’ is cool. i like it.

Altogether a very nice wallpaper. Great colours, wonderful light, mysterious caves, and that wonderful rock monster in the middle.
Gene [lifer]
I’m not the only one who sees the monster!!! I love it. Nice work. I’d love to know if the monster face is an intended feature, or a happy accident.

Nice image.
At the center part i see the open mouth of what might be a fossilized monster. With teeth on the lower part.
Very nice effect.

I love this piece! Like others, I saw faces, but that middle rock is clearly a moray eel. 😉

all across our world, trolls are turning to stone as a result of mrs bilbo and gandalf. won’t you help, for just the price of a coffee* per month?
* price of a coffee = $24.95, organic fair-trade half-caff, soymilk latte, with double whip and free-range chocolate sprinkles

Love the colors and the scenery. Add to that the fact that you did this with your son, and this just become one of my favorite pieces yet!

I’m generally not a fan of landscapes (I normally prefer planetscapes), but in this case I’ll make an exception. 🙂
Jesse [liferplus]
This is now one of my favorites. Can’t wait to get it on a canvas print at some point!

I like the scene, but I don’t like how it looks fuzzy.

This is awesome, it looks like a cenote, deep in the jungle, so peaceful, and beautiful. Very beautiful render my friend. thanks

I rather like the rock monster in the center. That might be something to play with in pickle jar versions.
Patrick [liferplus]
Yes, I agree about the thing in the middle. I wonder though about some foliage variations for the seasons? Talking of which, @Ben, yes winter is upon us here in the southern hemisphere, not freezing yet, but definitely cooler.
Ryan
I didn’t intend to put any faces (human, animal or otherwise) into the scene but I do see the one in the middle that folks are talking about. I considered “fixing” it but decided it added a bit of mystery to the scene and left it.

Have to second Mark A., the rock formation near the middle is very attention getting; it looks like something roaring with clearly defined teeth; kinda distracting.
Mark A. [liferplus]
Is it just me or does the cliff in the middle look like a tiger (or some other animal) roaring?

Other than the confusion the brain has processing the megaliths on the opposite side of the lake, this has quite a look to it, and honestly triggers a beckoning of sorts. One would expect some small community of…some kind of beings to live here and for good reason.
Ben [lifer]
This will be perfect for January/February when we’re freezing our butts off.

Very nice work. I think you and your son work well together, with this render as the example.
Simply beautiful!
DGolds [lifer]
I had to laugh at at the previous comment describing this as peaceful, because the first thing I see are two rock monsters
I agree with the beautiful!
Littlemom [liferplus]
I’m so glad you decided to go with the conventional look on this render, it’s absolutely beautiful. It’ gives off such a peaceful vibe. Love, Love, Love it!!!

Beautiful and mysterious. And missing the 1280 x 1024 resoluiton.
