Description

I started creating Halloween wallpapers back in 1998 and it’s become something of a tradition on DB for me to post something spooky every year.     For this year’s offering I originally had the idea of a traveler in the woods surrounded by glowing eyes.   As I was putting the scene together I switched gears to something a little more subtle and, hopefully, more frightening.   No jack-o-lanterns, or other Halloween tropes here, but I hope it fits the vibe nonetheless.

Beautiful colours – I like the dark pictures!

  2. David Rocha

Love it, it’s great! I’d love to see a different color hoodie though, maybe a light grey or green.

  3. Kevin Kammer

The subtlety is superb. Well done.

Oooooh appropriately spooky. I like that you’re exploring new ideas.

Very spooky! Quite subtle; it took me a while to even notice the hand on the tree seeing it on my phone, and it wasn’t until I saw it on the big PC screen that I realized how much more there is hiding! ^_^”

  6. Michael Taylor

    Very nice…I like it.

Solid night scene for fall/Halloween. I always enjoy the holiday and seasonal stuff as well as night. This is both!

I actually thought the hands were some kind of Lovecraftian situation, Lol! I actually like that this wasn’t too spooky. Horror isn’t for me, and this wasn’t too spooky that it gave me the ick. Nice job Ryan!

I had to really look to see it… very cool. Although the glowing eyes would have been good too.

    I love this one.
I was zoomed in looking at details of the sitting figure before I noticed the real Creepy.
I may need to order a print or something. This one is too good.

  11. Terry Keisic
    [Basic]

Love the idea, but I guess a bit too subtle for me.

Oh man! What else are you hiding in there?

I agree with the others that the terror part of this render is hard to see. Need to zoom in and look for it – need to be more visible to us. Love the concept though

Nice one, though I had to cheat by increasing gamma to see it. Once seen, it cannot be unseen even with standard gamma setting.

Atmospheric scene, but if that was me I would be hugging my knees. It took me a while to see the creature and when I did I let out a bit of a yelp!!!

Took me a minute, but once I saw it….LOVE the creep factor. Subtly sinister.

I like this one. You have achieved the right feeling of creepy, but I also like your original idea, because the idea of something behind him is even creepier, so maybe that could be a pickle jar version.
