Description
After sharing “Opalescence” last week quite a few Members suggested I make some color variations. One of the more interesting requests came from Plus Member Omar Calderon who asked that I create a white (day) version. I envisioned something like blocks of ice and I hope it serves to cool you off mentally if it’s crazy hot where you are. What do you think? Pickle Jar or gallery??

Love all of the versions of this. So simple, yet not.

Low-key and fascinating. I don’t usually like the lighter-colored backgrounds, but this one’s simplicity makes it stand out.

Gallery for sure

Has a very nice oddly soothing look, also I think the brighter look makes the texture more visible

I like this one but it’s lost the opalescence or iridescence. I think a good compromise might be a gray version but with the opalescence turned up more.

I like this but feel it’s missing the extra element. The darker one had the sheen, I dont think just cold trumps the other but it is now on my desktop so thanks.

It feels incomplete to me, but setting that aside, there’s something appealing about this one. I usually prefer the nature scenes where there’s a lot of implied story hidden behind what’s shown. This doesn’t have that, but it’s also not exactly abstract either. I’d agree that as it stands it’s pickle jar material, but I think it has potential to be more.

I like the blocks of ice visual, especially appreciated on a very hot day like today.
