Description
Inspired by one of the distant ice giants in our own solar system. This particular planet has the unique property that it’s rotational axis is tilted perpendicularly to the sun. I’ve created lots of planetscapes over the years but never one like that so it sounded like an interesting challenge. The foreground was modeled using Gaea.
PS: I chose the pre-anglicized version of this particular Greek deity’s name to keep the distraction to a minimum 😀

I love your planetscapes. Some have been my desktop favorites for a long time. This one is spooky, and after reading your post, I see why. I love it, just wouldn’t want to be there! Good work!

I love your terraforms and architectures. I have pretty much your entire collection of them rotating through my desktop, one every ten minutes.
I am noting that ever since you upgraded your rig, more variants on a scene are emerging.
(This is not a bad thing.)

You’ve done some really excellent artwork I’ve been proud to put on my screens over the years. Ouranos is so fantastic that I immediately set as my desktop on my iMac.

When put this one on my phone I used my phone’s photo editor to rotate the 5K image 90 degrees and then I used that for my phone wallpaper. Hope this helps!

I have the phone app for my Samsung Note 20+ ultra and I looked for a resolution that fit my phone (3088×1440) but couldn’t find anything. I tried others but it ends up cutting of the part of the pic. I am going t use my desktop to reduce the resize the image and see if it skews it any. I love this one especially on my phone, I have the twilight app for nightime and when it kicks in it gives it nighttime style. Changes the feeling of the pic for night. Thanks.

Great one, Ryan. I love your planetscapes. And thanks for the 3840 x 1200 resolution.

This is a great render, but I don’t see 3840×1200 for it. Will that one be posted at some point?
Thanks!

This is the second time where I thought the render at lower resolutions was much better than the jump to 21:9. I was excited to see this, and then less so to see it at 21:9 The other image was the balcony with the flower pots (and cat). The image angle below 21:9 I thought was much nicer.

Love it! If you were so inclined, one day I’d love to see your interpretation of a Synthwave/Retrowave cityscape.

A DB planet scape… awesome as ever.
Perhaps the crater is an ice volcano about to erupt ?

Totally love this image!

Totally love this image!

My only nit would be to lessen the fog just a bit on the bottom left on the multi monitor renders, but the mono color schemes are my favorite. Let’s the detail of textures and the subject really stand out. This one is just magic.
When I’m out of Pageantry Night (Halloween) mood, this one is going to replace it, and suspect it will be there a log time!

All my PC’s have your images as a desktop background, so I know on which machine I’m working 🙂 Becoming a member is worth it.

Great work, all those shades of blue. I made it my desktop background ASAP.

Another amazing image, thank you so much!

This is by far my favorite planetscape. Each one you do is better than the last. This is why I have been coming back year after year for 20 years. Thank you!

I love every planetscapes you made, but this one is special, due to its axis.
