Description
The past couple of Vue renders I’ve attempted have been, shall we say, troubled. Thinking that perhaps I have been jamming my scenes with too much complexity, I’ve been experimenting with breaking them up into foreground/background sections and then combining the elements so, hopefully, resources are economized and render-times are decreased.
In this case I rendered the “sky plate” first and then set it as a background object in new scene. Both renders were created on my Bucephalus workstation while Shadowfax worked to complete another render.

I had Dome of the Blue Seeress (2017) on my desktop for a long time but I keep coming back to Skygate (Spring) in spite of other new releases lately. There’s just the right amount of visual interest. It feels right.

I normally rotate between your landscape renders, Ryan. But this past week, I can’t get past this beautiful, haunting scene. My favorite this year!

I want to know what’s over that crest…good image that creates an instinctive reaction. Love it. My only criticism are the trees, they are distractingly unrealistic looking, but it absolutely does not halt that desire to know what’s over that crest!

This is an appealing wallpaper. I like the freshness and lightness of the picture with the pops of color. Are there more versions to come? Great job!
Ryan
Broader than most but still too narrow for my liking 🙂

I really do like this and look forward to the Fall and Winter versions. How about a night version with a shiny moon to provide light
Midnight [lifer]
I’m loving the color choices and really hope to see the multi-screen render.
Side Note: I’m encourage by the split foreground/background rendering. I think it’ll really open up some new options. Someday maybe this could even be revisited with the clouds fading a bit to some grand view.

I really like the colors and how the top and bottom of the frame is darker. It works better for me as a wallpaper because I like to keep a large number of Icons on my desktop and this doesn’t obscure the lighter colored lettering of the icons. Really looks great too!!!

Love it! It looks great on both my computer and my phone. My only quibble is the branch on the third tree; it ends like it was cut off. But that’s safely minor. Yes, a night or twilight version would be great. I’m wondering, though — because of adding “spring” to the title, does that mean this is going to be a seasonal series? If so, I’m all for it! Great work, Ryan, as ever.

Amazing.. a much needed night version is required for the pickle jar!

It’s… refreshing

Beautiful image. Are these trees meant to be Jacarandas by any chance?

I like the view, as if the trees are clustered on the brink of a cliff. The floral colors are nice contrast. Another nice piece, Ryan – thanks!!

Simply beautiful. Love it!

I simply love the colours, this is a very lovely landscape. The colours all work together, with the background sky, again bloody lovely Ryan, Great work.

Awesome image! Cannot wait for the dual screen version. Already have it on the phone, thanks to the app and will upload for FB cover.

O.M.Gorgeousness!!! Love this one! The colors are beautiful, and it’s so peaceful 🙂

I don’t care how long you take if you produce more work like this. It’s beautiful

I want to know whatâs on the other side of the trees. You do this in most of your landscapes, you tease our imagination by leaving an area out of bounds to our vision⦠So every time I look at my desktop I try to peer over the hill, doesnât appear to have worked yet. Love it Ryan.

I really like the colors used; the red and blue flowers in the forefront and the purple leaves on top of the silver clouds. It goes so well together. Well done and Thank you.

As always…just…wow! (crossing fingers for a 5760×1080) 😉

Realistic looking foreground. Great shadows. Love that cloud cover!

Ryan, when I saw the title “skygate…” my first thought was the movie Stargate. I like this one. I’ve always been a big fan of your nature-based works.

How lovely and soft…just like Springtime! Thank you so much, Ryan, for starting this beautiful creation!

It’s just like when you go to the eye doctor and he’s doing the “a or b?” comparison… and then when they’re all done, they show you what your old prescription was… and then your new and improved, in focus spacious, amazing depth of field, colorful, perfect, can’t turn away, clear vision…. yeah, Skygate is like that….
Zach [lifer]
I have to agree with what the others have said. As soon as a multi is available, it will be my new background. AWESOME!
Kana [lifer]
Oh I am loving this one! I am a bit biased in that my favorite color is purple, but I do like the elements, both in number & in style. A few of the broken branches that just end and are completely bare rub me a bit the wrong way, but overall I’m enjoying this new springtime scene. Keep it up!
Omar [basicmember]
I agree a night version would be great
Eclipz [lifer]
This is beautiful. Hope there is a night version!
Halfwolf [lifer]
This will be my wallpaper the moment you have a triple screen version.
Shao Lang [lifer]
With this render of the woods, it’s a calm and serene type setting. This would be an ideal place to camp and be away from EVERYTHING! I just absolutely love where you get your inspiration from. It just amazes me every time you put up a new render for us to see!! <3
Littlemom [liferplus]
I really like this render, I think it’s really beautiful. If there were a fault with it, I’d say it was that some of the trees look a bit fake. But other than that it’s really beautiful!!!
Steven [lifer]
How broad is your ability to render an idea?
