Description
This one has gone through quite a few variations since I started the project in the first week of January. I will have a couple of alternate versions to share in a day or so but I think this one works for me now. Always dicey posting winter images in January but I have to follow the muse…

Hi Ryan, is there any chance of getting multiscreen versions of the Pickle Jar version? It’s equally as gorgeous and offers a nice alternative perspective.

Wow I might like this one more than the original. The attention to detail seems greater. Maybe it’s just me. I just like the focus and lighting.
Seadragonl [liferplus]
This has a much warmer feel than the original. Like them both in different ways.

It’s images like this that make you renew your subscription…Just stunning Mr Bliss. I await the dual version with anticipation. THANK YOU ;0)
Sharif [liferplus]
This is perhaps the most realistic nature scene that I think you’ve created to date. Just … WOW !
Cirulon [lifer]
This is one of my favorites you’ve ever done. It just captures winter, and I love the cardinal! Keep up the great work!

More and more like an expensive photo from a nature photographer with an expensive camera and a photoshop license that would go for over $1000 on a main street gallery, I love it!
Duane [liferplus]
Lovely image, that harkens towards the return of Spring. I would love to see a render with an American Robin, as that is the true bird of Spring here in Ontario.
Cara [basicmember]
I agree… and the more I look at it, the more I hope to see just a hint of some big fish under the ice… <3

I am curious if you will go left (more water detail) or right (more tree detail) when you create the dual screen version. It feels a little bit like a hint on a Christmas present. “What will he include that was not in the original piece?” I sometimes say to myself 😉
sedragonlady [liferplus]
Lovely piece. I especially like the reflection details. Just right for this time of year. Lifts you away from the grey skies. Draws you down to the blue depths and reminds you spring is just a step or two away.
Evan [liferplus]
Another excellent piece. It is a bit bright for my eyes but I think it would work well as a daytime wallpaper. I wonder if one of the planned alternate versions will have a similar color theme to Hinterland for the evening hours.

This is mesmerizing. Please make it into a dual screen.

i absolutely love the look of this piece. please make it multi monitors soon 🙂

I like this one a lot! Very realistic. Love the “lighting” and the Cardinal! The reflection is wonderful. Keep up the good work!
BobC [lifer]
Just wonderful.
Chyane [liferplus]
Really beautiful, especially the water.
NikB [liferplus]
Now this is a stunning image – beautifully composed and thoughtfully put together. The little bird is just the icing on the cake. First rate work, Ryan (again!)
Matthew [liferplus]
This really might be among your best ever! Gorgeous!
Shao Lang [lifer]
I quite like this render. This is very different from the usual renders. The focus on the foreground and the out of focus background makes this more of a cinematic type render than what I had expected. Very Nice indeed!!
Linette [liferplus]
It’s very different from your usual work, with all the smooth creaminess of the ice reflection. I like it!

I’ve never understood the way some people criticize art…anyway…
I’m glad you posted a new winter one, I think this is my favorite non-Christmas themed winter image you’ve done in a while.
Littlemom [liferplus]
I personally have no problem with you posting a Winter render in January. This one has a really unique POV. I love it though. The colors are perfect for that icy cold feel. Can’t wait to see the other ones you’ve done with this render.
Susan [lifer]
This is gorgeous! It’s also distinctly different from landscapes and trees that you’ve done in the past.
Eric [liferplus]
Another great piece of work, and normally I have very little to say.
However, this one while looking very nice, especially the reflected images, the lines (waters edge / stones) are too clean.
If the water is fluid then there would not be snow on all the rocks leading to the waters edge. There would be a jagged splash line on the row of stones, deeper in some places and not so much in others. Also the water would look ripped in some places near the shore.
If the water is frozen, as it looks to me, then there would be some snow on top of the ice. At least near the shore due to wind blown snow.
My vote is: Pickle Jar

This has such a calm, quiet beauty. So well done. Brings needed beauty to winter.

Ryan, this is astonishingly beautiful, and I can’t wait for the multiscreen renders so that I can look at this one every day! Just wow!
Topher [basicmember]
Really loving the look of the water surface. It looks like you did it with water color paints.
Ret [basicmember]
This seems much too beautiful and evocative to be a wallpaper. Thank you for this one!
