Description
This is probably the last in my “Oasia” time-of-day sequence. Adding the fog bumped up the render time into the 5hr mark, vs 30 minutes for the cloudless versions but I think the effect was worth it here. I know not everyone is going to use these as dynamic wallpaper but I hope you’ve enjoyed the different views as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them.
PS: If I do something like this again I will certainly leave the moons out of the sky as they made the whole thing immensely more complicated 🙂

Awesome! All these renders night, dusk, noon and dawn are simply amazing, I love them all, there all very beautiful Great Job Ryan, these are my favorite other world – Planetscapes. Thank you my friend

I echo similar sentiments as others “More please!” As an artist, your inspiration may not always come from something, that could eventually become Phased Wallpapers, but when it does…you should seize the chance. You could also have some additional mobile apps for large enough projects. A $1.99 mobile app for this Oasis project, could provide another value stream that helps support your career as a digital artist. My $0.02

Thanks again for your help, Ryan. I tried pulling it from one of my server farms and then again over VPN but no luck right now. I’ll try again later. 🙂 I hope that you have a great day!

The caching is done via Cloudflare. It’s turned off right now so you should be able to fetch the new file. I loaded it in my browser just now and it’s updated…but only if you can somehow fetch the new one.
Nathan Zachary [lifer]
Hmmmm, I don’t have any caching enabled. It looks like the 3840×1200 is still showing the problem.

Magnificent, I like the darker backgrounds because it is easier on my eyes and this is simply beautiful.

You can get the time-of-day wallpaper effects on *nix systems too, I just have the images load from symbolic links every hour (or whatever) pointing to the actual images. If I want to get fancy I have a cron job that rearranges them based on seasonal rules (same as I have for the seasonal images.) Right now they load from /local/Wallpaper/Seasons/Current which links to /local/Wallpaper/Seasons/Summer, but next month Current will point to Autumn and so on. Same setup works for time of day. If anyone cares I can go into more detail.
Ryan
You may need to do a hard re-load of the file as you might be viewing the same file from your browser cache.

Thanks for taking a look at it, Ryan! I’m still seeing the box on the 3840×1200 render. Have all the new files been uploaded? Again, I really appreciate you taking the time to look at it.
Ryan
Thanks for the heads up about that. It was an editing mistake on my part that I should have noticed before I posted it. I’ve uploaded new files 🙂

I really like this version of Oasia, but there is some strange box around the large planet (at least in the multi-screen renders). It’s almost like it was superimposed onto a background with a different colour.

I replaced my desktop again, having just put the oasianight up only a week ago. I love the detailed dark images for icon visibility (like DarthSync) and it’s the detail that distinguishes your work. Excellent.
DarthSync [liferplus]
Ryan, the Oasia series has been fantastic. While I normally prefer darker themes in my images (they’re easier to find desktop icons against), I just love even the subtle differences in lighting you’ve applied (nevermind the obvious differences). Awesome stuff.

~~ The love this version, mostly for the Moons! i know you said you wouldn’t have done this if you’d know how long to took.. Ohh but the Moons bring out all the other details like the red of the mountains w/the cloud swirling around it, just Beautiful!~~

I don’t often comment, but I have to agree with the other commentors. You absolutely have to do more dynamic work.

This is my favourite of the series. I like the colours the best, and the fog adds a sense of mystery. Fantastic!

…IMHO

I have not had a reaction like this in a while. SPECTACULAR! My jaw hit the floor.

Ryan, please do more series like you’ve done with oasia. I love it!
